I think it’s important to understand that Roger is from a different time period than the other two of the big three. He’s an incredible player with dominance of an era unlike any other. Even now he still dominates over many other players in the sport. Ofc his h2h with the other two might be great but overall I do think he’s a much better tennis player
Completely agree
Totally. People usually forget that Federer is like 5 years older than the other two, which is a generational gap in sport. I’ve always thought the Nadal-Djokovic rivalry was much more apt because of their similar age, but the problem was that Nadal was unusually prodigious (especially on clay) that he became Federer’s only problem during his dominance. IMO the fact that Nadal acts like a “bridge” between the Federer era and the Djokovic era is the only reason why the idea of a Big Three even exist. Djokovic might be regarded as more consistent but in terms of total dominance there is no question 2004-2007 Federer is superior in this regard.
@@jerryto803 federer had to face great s&v players.
@@jerryto803 You nailed it really. Just look at his playstyle. He has had to evolve over the years. In his early years his forehand was a lot more flat out on points and in his more recent years he adepted to having more of a spin style like Rafa. The courts used to be quicker as well which suited his flat forehand much better and made it harder to have longer rallies. These days the guys mostly play to outlast each other in rallies instead of actively making the points. So many times they will hit a great ball into a corner and instead of going to the net they will wait in the back of the field which gives the opponent more time to get back into the point. The guys Federer grew up with didn't give you that time
Very much correct. Roger federer is the most complete, most talented, most elegant player ever. He is the only player who can fit into any era of tennis ( start to finish) in any era he woulld have dominated & would be the best player, where as other successful players would & will dominaye only in their respective era. If god had given him a boon that he will never cross 30 years of age , then he will only be winning most of the tournaments. Just because he became old & also 6-7 years senior to certain players, they started winning grand slams. He is the avatar of god as a superlative tennis player
Beautiful tennis. There is variety, subtelty and variation here. Beautiful angles, elegant movement, exquisite strokeplay. Just wonderful to watch and evocative of a different era. Roger Federer has played in 3 or 4 different eras and has astonishingly adapted and changed his game over the years as he deems fit for the player and the venue. We will all miss this!
Indeed, his style is for all ages. The complete player. Kudos to Misha too for elegant strokeplay especially that one handed backhand
Indeed, beautiful to watch this man in action!
He only dominated one era though
@@juanestebankruhsanmguel1960 Yes, he was in his prime years from 2004 to 2012. Both Djoker and Nadal are 6 and 5 years younger than him. So many of his losses against them have come when he is clearly beyond his prime, especially against Djokovic.
Prime Federer against prime Nadal or Djokovic on fast hard courts or grass court will prevail 7 times out of 10.
Without doubt, Federer is the most talented, beautiful, vesatile player ever to play tennis. Variety of shots he plays, is far more than combined of Nadal or Novak. His volley , stop volley, backend, forehand and dropshots are very pleasing to watch. To play for 20 over yrs with very high consistency is simply amazing. And above all, he is very humble, down to earth always easy going with his fans and media. We hardly read or hear ppl say bad things abt him. It is astonoshing to know that he has never retired half way in 1500 plus matches he has played. This shows how much he loves Tennis.. No other player has this effect on public past 50 yrs plus. No wonder he gets so much love, respect and attention from Reporters, players and public.. Even if Novak wins 25 Slams, he can never match talent, skill, charishma, elegance and popularity of Federer. Novak may go down as Goat but Federer is Lion ( king who rules)..👌🏻👌🏻..
great description and analyzing.

Unique player!
I also think it’s important to recognise that Roger is from another planet when it comes to ALL the qualities which make him the greatest ever player
Eleganza, stile, tecnica, bellezza... insomma, il vero tennis. Grazie Roger e Zverev, sembra di rivivere i giorni più belli della storia di questo sport. Rivedo McEnroe, Edberg, Becker...

Look at the finess, creativity, and touch here, power when needed. So much better than modern slug fest
Amazing!
Such an incredible player. I miss him so much

Sir Roger federer golden legend in universal love you ❤❤❤
Gotta love the mana
Thank you Roger, this is beyond human 🤩🤩🤩🤩

After facing Sampras and Henman and many other S&V guys in the late 90s and early 2000s, this Mischa guy is a piece of cake for Federer.
He's used to it!
Buongiorno
Giocatore straordinario! Passare una bella serata
Misha Zverev was playing very strong tennis at this time, being a leftie, strong double-hand backhand and chip and charge - made other players struggle. Federer was able in this game to adapt, innovate, diversify his game moment to moment and out-play what had caused other players a difficult problem they struggled to solve in facing M. Zverev.
If you notice, there's times where Djokovic and Nadal have at times being blown-away by facing a new type of opponent in contrast. Djokovic has great consistency, Nadal at his best can beat anyone, but in terms of adaptation Federer is the best and faced the least "shock defeats": When he lost it was to exceedingly strong players eg the other 2.
Yeah, Mischa beat Murray at the Australian Open that year as well!
Federer had mastered the art of old school tennis. No one could beat him especially on grass. Players just seem to be out of ideas against him as he was simply impenetrable especially on grass. But with Rafa and Novak reaching his level, the game of tennis changed forever!
GOAT
Federer the goat of elegance, Nadal of fighting spirit and Djokovic versatility. Both of the 3 dominated tennis in the last 2 decades, each one in their own style and records. When they will retire in the future we will miss them for sure. Looking at the scene right now is surely full of talented/skilled players but you can see that no one will be dominant on any surface, probably we will see different champions in any tournaments every year.
Incredible
Beautiful points!
too bad this type of Tennis doesnt exist anymore 😞
Roger won Wimbledon without dropping a set that year. incredible.
We will never get another player like him
Mischa made this a fun match aswell. i wish more would play his style but its a dying breed.
There are simple things in life that never get old…when Fed steps into a traditional forehand or backhand, it’s a thing of beauty. If you are from the game, it encapsulates so much. Watching his game evolve, the changes made, the guy is in his own class and will forever be…till the next great one, should there be one. I never thought anyone would get close to Sampras, then THREE did. Lucky lifetime. I love both Fed and Rafa, and regardless of numbers, djok isn’t the same. Hope he sits out all the majors, what a stupid decision if you actually love this game.
Geez, indeed what a master class, Fed could had send Zverev a bill for that one. 🙂
Hahaha Zverev did pretty good as well!
Federer is a ballet dancer who just happens to play tennis. Grace personified.
How can you say Djokavich is the all time world best tennis player. Federer wins hands down
The best!
Next gen doesn't know how to volley. Djokovic only has faced unidimensional players (all baseliners and double backhand).
@@kleptokratija i disagree. Unlike Federer, djokovic never played s&v, even in wimbledon.
@@kleptokratija i watched tennis since 1993. Especially matches of Sampras and Rafter.

@Roger That Tennis could you get rid of the toxic comments?
It's tough but I try Chris!
Mischa Zverev who is Alexander Zverev's brother is a good lawn court player. But it's very difficult for him to win Roger at Wimbledon 🎾
There was a biggest coward in this tournament who retired in quarters fearing to face a 36 Yr old😂😂
I would say Rogers is the top running shoe and watch salesman
The only thing we agree on
@@RogerThatTennis he has that crown all to himself because his other achievement don't come close to Novak
He came from another planet... its unfair let humans plays against him
I got it. It's not Sasha. It's his brother. He's left handed. Correction made.
You got it my guy
The game looks a lot more fun when the players use the whole court and not just being stuck to the baseline all the time
Baseline tendencies have a lot to do with slower courts these days
I liked the rafa style hahahahah
Glad someone caught it hahah
someone gotta ban canski for abusive comments🤣🤣
Don't want to be like a dictator but I am really considering that haha
Oh qué divertido saque sube a la red y ya, que pro, mola más intercambiar golpes como en tierra batida ahí dónde Nadal lo destroza el Federer se cansaba siempre jaja vaya nenaza que no le gusta correr de un lado a otro
these days, the grass games are almost as slow as the hard court games. and all the opponents are all baseliners. tennis is getting boring without any variety, everyone plays the same type of tennis, and atp keeps slowing down the courts so that even long rallies can happen on grass courts
If you want to know how to play on grass you should show the 3 Wimbldeon finals wins djoki won against Fed
Federer was not playing old school here...he was the modern style player and Zverev the old schooler lol
After this video im gonna say this. People say that Roger was lucky that he didnt face Novak in his prime and arguably that's correct. However we must not forget that Novak was lucky to never face a 2003-2007 and 2017 Fed in his prime. All i want to say is that it is just the different sides of the same coin. Except 2011-2012 and arguably 2015 we never really saw in any other year both players at least in their physical and technical prime. In conclusion it is really unfair to compare them becuse in my view Roger belongs in the previous era and phylosophy of tennis (and we can say easily that he belongs to the previous generation too). Even though he adapted his game brilliantly in the 2010 decade it was clear that especially after 2013 he couldnt follow Novak's game and pace in grand slams. Just see those three wimbledon finals. Roger was just giving the match in the last sets and it is not difficult to see why. You understand that Roger is my favourite but i have to admit that Novak is the one that forced me to not believe in that GOAT myth and propaganda in Wimbledon of 2019. He showed me that every era has its best and he was and still is the best of the 2010-2019 and 2020-now era. Now that Roger announced his retirement i suggest for you Nole and Rafa fans to appreciate your favourite and your rival a little bit more because they will not play forever.
Damn. Wimbledon surface looks slow as f.
It's actually quite fast, the balls are really slow though
@@RogerThatTennis understandable! 2021 RG even Fed told that the clay surface looks faster. That could be also a reason Rafa lost to Nole. Like Blue clay, red clay also could be make faster if too much salt and sun light are applied.
Federer is 0-3 in Wimbledon finals against Đoković.
Noiice
There must be a little mistake there. As far as I know, Sasha isn't left handed.
