    I think it’s important to understand that Roger is from a different time period than the other two of the big three. He’s an incredible player with dominance of an era unlike any other. Even now he still dominates over many other players in the sport. Ofc his h2h with the other two might be great but overall I do think he’s a much better tennis player

      Completely agree

    • @jerryto803
      @jerryto803 2 года назад +25

      Totally. People usually forget that Federer is like 5 years older than the other two, which is a generational gap in sport. I’ve always thought the Nadal-Djokovic rivalry was much more apt because of their similar age, but the problem was that Nadal was unusually prodigious (especially on clay) that he became Federer’s only problem during his dominance. IMO the fact that Nadal acts like a “bridge” between the Federer era and the Djokovic era is the only reason why the idea of a Big Three even exist. Djokovic might be regarded as more consistent but in terms of total dominance there is no question 2004-2007 Federer is superior in this regard.

      @@jerryto803 You nailed it really. Just look at his playstyle. He has had to evolve over the years. In his early years his forehand was a lot more flat out on points and in his more recent years he adepted to having more of a spin style like Rafa. The courts used to be quicker as well which suited his flat forehand much better and made it harder to have longer rallies. These days the guys mostly play to outlast each other in rallies instead of actively making the points. So many times they will hit a great ball into a corner and instead of going to the net they will wait in the back of the field which gives the opponent more time to get back into the point. The guys Federer grew up with didn't give you that time

      Very much correct. Roger federer is the most complete, most talented, most elegant player ever. He is the only player who can fit into any era of tennis ( start to finish) in any era he woulld have dominated & would be the best player, where as other successful players would & will dominaye only in their respective era. If god had given him a boon that he will never cross 30 years of age , then he will only be winning most of the tournaments. Just because he became old & also 6-7 years senior to certain players, they started winning grand slams. He is the avatar of god as a superlative tennis player

    Beautiful tennis. There is variety, subtelty and variation here. Beautiful angles, elegant movement, exquisite strokeplay. Just wonderful to watch and evocative of a different era. Without doubt, Federer is the most talented, beautiful, vesatile player ever to play tennis. Variety of shots he plays, is far more than combined of Nadal or Novak. His volley , stop volley, backend, forehand and dropshots are very pleasing to watch. To play for 20 over yrs with very high consistency is simply amazing. And above all, he is very humble, down to earth always easy going with his fans and media. We hardly read or hear ppl say bad things abt him. It is astonoshing to know that he has never retired half way in 1500 plus matches he has played. This shows how much he loves Tennis.. No other player has this effect on public past 50 yrs plus. No wonder he gets so much love, respect and attention from Reporters, players and public.. Even if Novak wins 25 Slams, he can never match talent, skill, charishma, elegance and popularity of Federer. Novak may go down as Goat but Federer is Lion ( king who rules)..👌🏻👌🏻..

    Misha Zverev was playing very strong tennis at this time, being a leftie, strong double-hand backhand and chip and charge - made other players struggle. Federer was able in this game to adapt, innovate, diversify his game moment to moment and out-play what had caused other players a difficult problem they struggled to solve in facing M. Zverev.
    If you notice, there's times where Djokovic and Nadal have at times being blown-away by facing a new type of opponent in contrast. Djokovic has great consistency, Nadal at his best can beat anyone, but in terms of adaptation Federer is the best and faced the least "shock defeats": When he lost it was to exceedingly strong players eg the other 2.

When they will retire in the future we will miss them for sure. There are simple things in life that never get old…when Fed steps into a traditional forehand or backhand, it’s a thing of beauty. If you are from the game, it encapsulates so much. Watching his game evolve, the changes made, the guy is in his own class and will forever be…till the next great one, should there be one. I never thought anyone would get close to Sampras, then THREE did. Lucky lifetime. I love both Fed and Rafa, and regardless of numbers, djok isn’t the same. Hope he sits out all the majors, what a stupid decision if you actually love this game.

    After this video im gonna say this. People say that Roger was lucky that he didnt face Novak in his prime and arguably that's correct. However we must not forget that Novak was lucky to never face a 2003-2007 and 2017 Fed in his prime. All i want to say is that it is just the different sides of the same coin. Except 2011-2012 and arguably 2015 we never really saw in any other year both players at least in their physical and technical prime. In conclusion it is really unfair to compare them becuse in my view Roger belongs in the previous era and phylosophy of tennis (and we can say easily that he belongs to the previous generation too). Even though he adapted his game brilliantly in the 2010 decade it was clear that especially after 2013 he couldnt follow Novak's game and pace in grand slams. Just see those three wimbledon finals. Roger was just giving the match in the last sets and it is not difficult to see why. You understand that Roger is my favourite but i have to admit that Novak is the one that forced me to not believe in that GOAT myth and propaganda in Wimbledon of 2019. He showed me that every era has its best and he was and still is the best of the 2010-2019 and 2020-now era. Now that Roger announced his retirement i suggest for you Nole and Rafa fans to appreciate your favourite and your rival a little bit more because they will not play forever.

      Djokovic is a defensive pusher and has a way of frustrating attacking players in an era of slow courts.
      For Nadal, from 2015 after the racket change, Federer has got his number
