I'm 54 years old and I remember singing this song in school. We sang it in music class. I was in 4th grade and I went to a predominantly Hispanic school so it was what we sang to introduce us to Spanish as well as introduce the Hispanic kids to English. Wow, that was over 40 years ago.
Wow a classic ,Was only 2 when I first of this in 1975 ,What a classic 49 years on ,Now at 51 still a great tune .
I remember watching him on German TV when I was stationed there between 1975-78. It was one of my favorite songs back then and still is.

My dad was stationed in Germany '74 to '77 and my mom loved this song, she passed away this past February so yeah I'm listening to this song. She use to play it all the time.
