We see such technically (literally) unbelievable playing these days that it's hard to remember that the OGs played so much of the stuff that kick started the whole thing down by the nut using open strings, hammer ons, pull offs and slides. Page is a master of this in your face, sloppy, getting it done style. Ave Jimmy!

Great stuff! One can never get enough of the Zep/Page stuff. But we gotta give credit where credit is due: The Black Dog riff was a John Paul Jones invention (just the riff though, not the entire song).

Always a pleasure to listen to you! Hell yeah, Jimmy f****** Page!!! Listening to him on led zep 1-5 made me start learning to play guitar. We are almost at a year from that start date, and (with tabs) I can play just over 30 songs now....trying to get my skills up enough to try a few medium level zeppelin songs. Again, as always you sound great. Keep up the good work!

MARTY, Do more lessons like this. Clapton Cream would use major pentatonic licks like in the cream songs Crossroads, whiteroom, sunshine of your love. If you study the theory behind the guitar solo for purple haze, hendrix is adding in the Major 2nd and Major 6th scale degree into the minor pentatonic scale while the bass line is in a different key to make a YT lesson about why is hendrix adding in the M2 and M6 to the pentatonic scale which he does also for the guitar solo Hey Joe on the lower strings he adds M2 and M6 notes which is unusual. Hendrix would do this using a bass line that used the 3rd or 5th or other notes not the root that you should do a deep dive into making a YT lesson about hendrix bass lines.
