I really enjoyed working on this! It was really fun to analyze in depth and help you out with this video! Hope everyone can take something from this into their own gameplay!
Absolutely brilliant explanation, I can immediately change 2-3 things /mechanics that will instantly make me a better player. So simple but so effective 🙏 ty for this
What I think really stands out with Zen is how mature he is on and off the pitch. I mean you see this guy who is still basically a kid but he behaves better than most adults. He isn´t toxic afaik and can even just wipe off big mistakes (own goal in rlcs worlds). Watching him play is like watching Ronaldinho in his prime, doing his thing and smiling while doing so. I really hope Zen will be there for years to come and make Rocket League even more exciting to watch than it already is.
You have to be a somewhat high level of maturity to be a pro, I think y’all overhype him a little too much because he’s really is just a pro with some unique differences, and to be honest that’s every pro. I think he also is in the best possible spot with the best team to be having so much success, I don’t see a crazy difference with him compared to other pros.
@superflyslay9740 Well he tweeted out about having no sleep and being frustrated at the result, and then deleted that tweet an hour later congratulating Rw9 and apologizing. Since that moment I haven’t seen anything negative from him
This is D1 meatriding. He’s just really good dude. Most pro players do the same stuff. He’s just more impressive, mechanical, and consistent than them. Some of these clips are just a ridiculous stretch. Like the 2v1 save. Pretty sure 100% of pros have made that save before.
you cant put selfless and zen in the same sentence. If u actually watch some of his ranked games ull notice how little respect he usually has for his m8s and hiw much he ballchases around them.
tm8 he doesn't trust or doesn't play with, its mainly people like vatira, exotic(they used to play 2s back in the day in french tourneys), alpha54, radosin etc... that he respects and certain pros.
Everything said in the video is exactly what you do in football(soccer), run when you have to, dribble for a reason and not just by the sake of it, know where your teammates and opponents are and have great vision to make the best play possible to score a goal. Basically, he is Messi haha, feel free to disagree.
My fault guys, I was just surprised that as soon as I clicked on my subscriptions page his video was released with no views. Ive never seen that before 😂
One thing I just learned today is that Zen actually used his trigger button in order to air roll. This in turn allows him to control the speed of his air rolls. One of the bigger reasons for his high skill. Along with him being a gifted player who put his time into the right things.
“He knows he doesn’t always need to shoot…and that he can instead take the ball wide to try set up a better shot” this is what nearly everyone in Diamond and below does every time, not out of skill, but because we don’t know HOW to shoot.
It's inborn talent. He looked at the game for the first time and was instantly the GOAT - anyone who's good enough to become a pro at anything is that kind of instant genius
A very interesting take on the "what makes a player this good" series, adding the coaches perspectives ! However, I'm not sure about the 1s input, I might be mistaken but I think Zen was pretty new to 1s when he started his showmatch streak on JohnnyBoii's channel, but I guess you can say the same thing about the importance of defense in 2s at this level, which often goes back to 1vs1 situations
@@leylaali1982 He still probably has 1000s of 1s games under his belt haha I mean literally just think abt how much total time he has in the game to be able to even reach his level. Kind of weird to say "new to 1s" when the average player wouldn't even come close to him when it comes to amount of games played. Hell I'm c3 in 1s which would be considered top 1% for that gamemode and it's like the only thing I play so I would call myself a 1s main, but Zen probably has 100s if not 1000s of games on me just in ssl alone

If I’m being honest the thing you explained are very vague compared to what other pros do, he does everything else the same compared to others, it’s just the fact that the media overhyped him way too much, ofc the success plays apart but he is very lucky to be in the best situation possible with a team that matches him. I don’t think he will be the next generational talent based off what you have stated and what the coaches analyzed, I could be wrong as well but I think you guys could lay off the glazing for now. If anything the media will f up his career because it might get to his head even though he might just be another normal rlcs pro.
thing is. it's not rly about what he does but how well he does it. other pros can also hit crazy mechs n shit, but few are as consistent as him, and none match those mechs while having as good gamesense. i love how you say he's lucky and he might just be a normal rlcs pro as well. no amount of luck can make a guy join the rlcs scene and not loose an event for month, especially when the team hadn't won one the whole season. are radosin and alpha good players ? absolutely, they're as deserving as zen. however, i don't think you quite get how good zen is.
@@swagie_ik he’s good but it’s hard to explain how teams can change off of one change, idk how I can explain it but they are lucky to have all of the right men on the team, and I understand how he may be consistent but I don’t think they’re is a major skill gap beetween him and other pros, it’s just that everyone keeps overhyping him. I think this has been done before, for example: Daniel, jstn, etc. I just think we for some reason overhype rookies for no reason and act as if they’re the next big thing.

Every tourney except gamers8. He's human but still the 🐐
Team play is so important. So hard to find that in late diamond, early champ.

"new to 1s", maybe relative to other top 20 players, but he still would have to have thousands of matches against SSL+ to get to his skill level.
