You are wrong bro. Yes. God commands to take care of the poor in the church, understandable. The purpose behind every move can not be compromised. The purpose of covenant university is retool the moral and excellence in the educational system. Many in the covenant university are on scholarship because of brilliancy, majority are members of the church. There is a unit of the church ministry that are taking care of the poor. Bible says poor will always be in your midst. Its an institution that is needed to be sustained in term of financial management. If you think is wrong or not justified,then try and build one to accommodate the poor people, paying good salaries for lecturers and we'll equipped to standard to give the best resources for study and research for the students. A church is like a charitable organisation...go back to history and see how Catholics built hospitals and schools for the people they didn't receive funds from . How much more winners who agree to collect tithes and offering to build schools,if not for charitable works the church is doing another gender called education business...I know is hard for you to agree but that is the honest truth...I won't wait until an unbeliever tells us the truth. Brother, you are very wrong in your interpretation of the scripture and the declaration of Bishop Oyedepo. God can never be the one who spoke to Oyedepo to increase his tuition fees against the poor masses in this harsh economy. Infact the true God would rather instruct him to do the reverse. It is his selfishness, greed and mammon spirit that spoke to him. You are just a politician, speaking from two edges of the mouth, indirectly defending Oyedepo. The money he controls today, including the ones he uses for his private businesses, came from/through the church (the members/people). There is nothing christlike in building a school from the collections from the church while the poor members cannot afford it's school fees. Stop sacrificing the truth to defend an eering mortal man may be for to remain in his good book. It is the truth that sets free, not the defence of falsehood.
