Nantes | Frankenstein animatic

  • I've had this idea for this animatic in my head since I first heard the song in 2020, and it's barely changed since then (though my design for Victor and my understanding of 1790s fashion did). I finally finished it in January with the intent to color it, but found I couldn't seem to get it to look right so I decided to leave it uncolored and be content :]
    Sorry if anyone notices any weird noises during the instrumental break around the middle of the animatic, btw, since in the original song there's a sound of glass breaking and French people talking during that part - I tried to remove it but wasn't fully successful.

    I love the choice of brown colour palette - it reminds me of 18th century woodcuts.
    Also following Henry's perspective through the story's events builds up to his inevitable tragic end.

      Thank you so much!! My intention with the coloring was actually to get a kind of 18th century illustration vibe (though more like a sketch from that time period done in ink rather than a woodcut) so I'm glad it came across well :D
