Tbh I don't like Layton, it's sweet and cloying and kinda smells like a more chemical Eros to me. Very teenager. The people I asked either hated it or thought it smelled fine, but it didn't blow anyone's mind. For the price you can buy 3 designer fragrances, so I'd rather buy some Dior and Chanel instead.
Percival, Herod, Haltane and Oajan are all amazing though, but also overpriced.
I haven't tried Layton yet. I've only tried Layton Exclusif and I thought it was phenomenal. Got quite a few compliments with it too. :)

Sauvage Elixir was a scrubber for me, but I tried it again and it is my most complimented scent above all. The dry down is where it shines.
I didn’t like the first few times I smelled it but now it’s my favorite one
Sauvage elixir is one of my best compliment getter. It’s just perfect for a date night and it’s a ten for me.

There is an interesting thing that one of the sales ladies at a local perfumery told me. During the pandemic, there was a huge retrieve of perfumes cuz of some fixator and from that moment almost the totality of the designer fragrances give us much lower performance compared with the batches before the pandemic. Sauvage Elexir is overhyped for sure - I prefer the perfume version and for me it smells much better and I get an actually complements. So, that said, from now on I buy only beast mode or nuclear performance liquids for the quality. Spending some extra cash makes the difference.

Thanks for your honesty, particularly on La Male Elixir. That fragrance was being hyped for views. It smells like a thick, dense, overly sweet $50 Paco Rabanne fragrance.

I don't use tik tok so I did me know Le male was being hyped up like that. But I seen it at Macy's and brought it.
To strong for me ahd nothing special imo. I guess it was an impulse buy.
Scent is completely subjective for everyone but Le Male Elixir is an absolute banger. Everyone I know loves it and I get compliments every time I wear it from both men and women.
I actually like Le Male Elixir quite a bit. Though I think Ultra Male is just as good if not slightly better in my opinion.

I had the same experience with JPG Le Male Elixir and I love the JPG brand. Stuff was just wayyy too sweet for me while also not really having any depth. Ended up selling it after 2 wears.

Finally someone said it. Every fragrance you mentioned and the reasons are more or less my thoughts on 'em too. I thought I was always alone 😂
John paul elixer smells very similar to perry ellis 360 black. Mostly because of they share similar dry down notes in amber as well as tobacco. Because of this elixir was spoiled for me, luckily i only purchased a travel sample of it.
what you said is true, sometimes we are fooled by advertisements and make blind buys and currently there are too many perfumes with sweet aromas but in my opinion the fragrance will taste good when it's half or a third left.

Luckily I didn't spend much on my biggest regret, but it's Lattafa Khaltaat Al Arabia Royal Blends. It's very sweet and fruity, which I don't like. I've worn it twice and never again. I do have Maison Alhambra's Tobacco Touch, and it's very good, I'd recommend checking it out for a great Tobacco Vanille dupe.
You know what, the Stronger with you battle is just personal taste, because as much as I like both, Absolutely is my go to and I wouldn't change it. Maybe Intensley is better in fall and cold spring but what the first one does in winter for me is just amazing (and for ladies, cuz this pulls compliments like crazy, second to Valentino BiR Uomo intense, Idk why it works, it works)
xerjoff starlight is also $400 though and there are no discounters in australia that I know of that sell it
Le Male Elixir was my first JPG fragrance. I bought it a few months after launch and did so because of the hype, it was my first regret although I'm quite used to blindbuying. A few weeks later I tested other flankers and really enjoyed them, namely Le Male Le Parfum and Le Beau Le Parfum.
Sauvage Elixir, on the other hand, was the only Sauvage I was missing. Sadly it was nothing like the ones I had. Absolutely hated it.
Since both blindbuys I've spent a considerable amount of time, effort and money researching Fragrantica and other content before even buying a decant. I guess both fragrances were a good lesson. Thank god they were designer.
I don’t have by Killian angel share. I have lattafa Khamrah! Give that one a shot if you want something similar! It’s a fraction of the price of angel share! I love it!:)
This is great advice for folks NOT to blind buy "at least" the pricey fragrances.

What you said about Tom Ford TV is me with Nishane Suede et Safran. 230 euro for a 50ml. I'm not coping when I say it smells better than Ombré leather but still damn that price is insane. I feel like not wearing it because its a waste, but not wearing it is a waste too.
Bro i regret buying savauge elixir too i smelled a sample on paper and the dry down of it smells way different on skin
Lesson I learned - try colognes in shop ON SKIN!, preferable multiple times. If you love it - buy. There were couple of times when the scent smelled good on paper or in air, but turned bad on skin.
Just because someone likes a perfume doesn't mean its gonna work for you, i once blind bought Dylan blue, Sauvage both had given me headaches. Dylan blue later i used as room spray lol
I blind bought Bvlgari man in black thinking it would replace or upgrade my og Spice bomb and I never ware it and still reach for og spice bomb
I bought Sauvage Elixir and I think that because I live in Canada where winter lasts forever and is 3x colder I’m able to get away with it more as the intensity and projection is negated by the intensity of the weather. Still wouldn’t go more than 2 sprays tho even in winter
what does winter have to do with the smell and projection ? (i'm curious)
Cold will mute scents. Body heat will activate them more.
@@eejaaspk cold vs warm. Fragrance on me is like blooming when sun is high and is hot and my body is overheating. In the morning (around 5) its almost like "muffled".
Sauvage Elixir is not really a regret imo I LOVE it

Le Male Elixir is sort of a shot in the dark. It can definitely be too sweet in the opening, but the drydown is pretty nice and it works well with my skin chemistry. I can totally see why someone would dislike it, though.
I went to a store looking for which dior sauvage model I should get and when I let my mom test out the elixir model, she said it’s something that my grandpa would wear because it smells like a fragrance for more mature men
I blind bought Hindu Kush from Mancera. First of all, it had the atomizer problem where it sticks and you have to manually pull it up after each spray (which is relatively common with Mancera from ehat I understand). It was also just too heavy on the patchouli, for me.
I bought Burberry Hero EDT after having a 1ml sample.
I've worn it once. I don't like how it smells on me.
The only blind buy I got was spicebomb extreme and it was insanely good, every other fragrance I sampled first

My biggest regrets was buying light blue edt instead of intense and my Dunhill icon racing blind buy(I like icon racing but I don’t have the situation to use it )
i got light blue edt for christmas this past year and it smells nice but it does NOT perform whatsoever

I have like 10 fragrances I wear out of 70 bottles i own......sometimes I do reach for a different frag depending on my mood. Overall I need to sell like 75% of my collection because I literally can't decide what to wear
The experience i had with swy absolutely was that i smelled eatable and masculine at the same time. But with swy intensely , sone told me that they had some kind of headache because of the spiciness. Overall i had more complements from swy absolutely than swy intensely.
The same thing happened to me with Asad. I thought if it comes close to Sauvage Elixir, it must be good. I didn't know either of them. It makes me feel sick, and I gave it to my father

Sauvage Elixir gets me a lot of compliments from either man or woman I don't know when I wear it .
Fragrances I regret buying: Profumo, Oud Malaki, Sauvage EDP, Sauvage Parfum, Prada L'homme, Tonka Cola, Cedrat Boise, and Starlight. I WOULD have regretted Stronger With You Absolutely; however, I traded it for Enigma Parfum Pour Homme so probably one of my best buys.

Unpopular take but initially enjoyed MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver but after a while started to dislike it. It's a good thing I only have a sample of it and didn't buy a full bottle 😅
I'm happy I got le male le parfum instead of elixer. I hate sickly sweet fragrances.
when it comes to fragrances I have but don't wear: number one is Encre Noir by Lalique. I appreciate this scent, however, not only do I kinda know this scent from somewhere, this scent is so groomy and murderously serious, that I can't imagine myself smelling like that.

I use it in work. My work is similar to the gym training. Lifting heavy objects and walking with them.

I don’t have Sauvage elixir but i have Latafa Asad and i don’t like anything about it at all it’s a big disappointment. I also have SWY intensely, absolutely, as well as the original. I definitely enjoy intensely much more of the 3.

Dolce and Gabbana the one EDT, blind bought it at a discount store for 40 bucks but I hated the scent, glad it was cheap

Gucci Guilty Elixir, one of my biggest fragrance regrets. Still trying to get someone to buy it off of me.
For me its Valentino Born in Roma Green Stravaganza, it smells sour and its not really my type and ive never gotten a compliment on it. Its also not long lasting or strong

A word about Savage Elixir. I LOVE IT. I'm also 46. LOL. The Elixir is not a young man's cologne.
Biggest regret would probs be buying the original spice bomb, it’s a cool fragrance on paper being a strong dose of peppers and spices but in reality it’s extremely hard for a person to pull off due to it being such a strong and harsh fragrance, i smelled it on a guy yesterday while waiting in line to be served at a bank, it was borderline unbearable id have to give it a 1.5/10 your better of wearing nothing than it

Turning 26, Sauvage Elixir came out a little bit way tooo sweet for me, even though Dior Homme Intense is pleasant, maybe due to how the perfumer worked the ingredients, feels BDC like in terms of natural, will smells good a hundred years from now

I got tobacco touch on amazon for $24 and its legit spot on and I get a good 8-9 hours out of it

I regret buying tom ford noir extreme. I enjoyed it at first sniff but it quickly started to smell bland and uninteresting in comparison to the rest of my collection

biggest regret buy for me was a classic fragrance from the house of Krizia "Spazio Krizia. Uomo" This scent was so unique and masculine I took one smell of it and bought it immediately the 1st time in 1996. Bought it again in NYC in 2003 and vehemently regretted. The dry down was non existent. I could get maybe 3- 5 hours out of it before having to reapply it. Terrible buy!!!
went from 80, down to 59 im glad i like unisex fragrances if something is too fruity my gf takes in my unwanted ones, and shes an oversprayer so win win for me ahaha

100% Agree with you on everything you said about Absolutely VS Intensely. The booziness in absolutely really does not smell good, intensely is simply the better SWY and I will always go for Intensely over Absolutely.
