- Israel's Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that ultra-Orthodox Jewish seminary students must be drafted into the military.
The unanimous decision said there was no legal basis for exempting ultra-Orthodox men from serving in the military and had the potential to divide Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's governing coalition.
There was mixed reaction from lawmakers and the public.
While the military expresses a critical need for more recruits, leaders of the ultra-Orthodox community view these exemptions as crucial for the continuation of their traditions.

That's purely a radical thing to say. That would be against our Constitution. Not every citizen can serve in the military for medical reasons. During the Draft Lottery of the 70's that went by birthdates if you were a low number you would be drafted to serve in Vietnam. Students protested at the Universities against Vietnam. The boys who signed up for the National Guard did 6 years. Some remained stateside.

Also these dual citizens have the right to take over homes of palestinians, so if they are going to enjoy the fruits of Promised land then pay with military services.
