Following the earlier videos on introduction to ventilation ( • Ventilation series-int... ) and settings on ventilator ( • Ventilation series-wha... ), in this video, I discuss the modes of ventilation, focusing on how synchronization works, what the differences between the different modes are etc. We will look at how to choose the modes in the following videos. Hi Dr Sridhar. Thank you for the excellent informative presentation. When using PSV, Why is it advised to keep pressure 2 to 3 below PIP?

Thank you-I did not understand the question. Are you talking about volume guarantee, where the PIP max is set 2-3 more than the PIP that baby is needing?

I have tried but it is difficult to predict response. However, when you use SIMV with PS, and you have a lower rate on SIMV, the PS works well
