The bigger "lump" allows it to take more. That curvature of the plastic is a shock absorber, similar to the leaf springs on a truck. That "lump" flattens on impact. The taller "lump" theoretically means it should absorb more impact.
That is an awesome way to explain it and thank you for the tip and the comment. The Hillbillies are quite stiff compared to the other so I am assuming the flex also plays a part in absorbing the impact. Keep well.
I wear the triple 8 fingerless gloves similar to your hillbillies. Same issue that the lump of plastic on the palm is huge. The gyro riders are made for EUC but they look to have the same thing. The flatland 3D eskate gloves seem to be a good balance but they’re really hard to get. I hope one day we get more custom gear!
This is so true, check out the Flexmeter Wrist Guard Double Sided D3O. They looks like a good set of wrist guards and the bit that it had some rubber in the palm that help with the absorption of the impact is a great addition. But the thing that the guys where saying is that they are very long and come almost halfway up your arm. Would sound a bit weird but the basic wrist guards with a MTB glove underneath is a best of both worlds. They are small and comfortable and you can chop and change depends on the weather. Thanks for watching and your feedback.
I think if you looks at MX gloves you might get some options. I have a pair of EVS Wrister Gloves Pro gloves that might work. They dont have the palm wrist protection but you help with hyperextension on the back of the hand. The other ones to look at that is really awesome is the Flexmeter Double Sided Wrist Guards D3O. Hope this helps and you find something that would work
Sorry I am not I just look at so many options before I buy that it allows me to help other people with more options. Keep well and hope you get sorted out with some good wrist protection. For me its important.

The review I was waiting for. Got here first too!
Many thanks for the feedback.
All these use leather...is there no vegan alternatives?
