I recently used this technique to build new fixed ports on my boat from 1/4" acrylic sheet and it worked very well. To get the edges real clean and dead on accurate in some areas I used a router and top bearing trim bit guided by a straight edge.

    1. I use a rail guide which makes it much smoother and easier.
    2. Don’t go too slow while cutting, the blade could start melting the plexiglass if you don’t move quick enough. I’m using a 80 tooth blade.

What brand of plexiglass did you use in this video? At min 3:23, you mentioned that due to this brand, you could cut straight through without cracking it, otherwise you would've needed to make cuts on both ends and meet in the middle. Thanks!

I have sheets of 1/4 inch used plexiglass that i want to make some window inserts for inside my home to keep out cold air in winter months. Will the circular saw cut used without messing it up or busting it? I love this video as I also use to cut 1/8 inch with a utility knife marking it over and over again and the knife always slips and makes scratches. Thank you.

bob semper fi great video thanks. [ years ago early 80's I tried to put a large piece of plexiglass pretty thick through a table saw by my self.... It stored up a "bunch" of energy and Jumped up off the table and I shoved it out of the way of the blade. Lucky I was not hurt, and material only chipped a corner off, but wholly cow, I found Jesus.
