    Totally cool to see the POV vid! Shows that all the times I feel I'm the one cutting back field and not getting the disc is normal and not to be taken personally

      haha yes, sometimes you can make all the right cuts but the thrower just decides to not look at you :x

    Awesome video, great to see it and the subtitles explaining your thinking. I've struggled with playing too passively on a team with higher level players. Really helpful to see how you work the disc, when to wait, and when to go for it.

    What's your mount setup like?
    I would definitely like to see more of this!
    I've done some chestie mount filming of ultimate in pickup and it comes off ok, but pretty shaky.

      Head mount with a GoPro! And will def post more :)
      Haha ye I chose the head mount since I wanted to avoid accidentally bidding on it, and also show where I'm looking while on the field.

    @4:33 you can see the thrower's weight is on the wrong leg; that's why the pass goes awry. If you're gonna throw-and-go, or really anytime you're throwing while in motion, you have to pay extra attention to unweighting properly. We always want our weight going AWAY from the throw; if your weight is going toward the throw, it's easy to lose control.

    • @pugsnhogz
      @pugsnhogz Месяц назад

      Jesse Shofner's Callahan video from wayback has a TON of great examples of unweighting properly on the move. If you watch you can notice her second-to-last step before the release is often SLOWER; she's making sure she's set, even if just for a moment, before she throws.

    • @cchanulti
      @cchanulti  Месяц назад

      the mistake they were talking about was that the thrower thought the person he was throwing to was on the field LOL (the guy was actually on the sideline), so just a quick turnover.

    at 0:36 what is "inside shoulder" and "the scoop"? I'm pretty sure inside shoulder = #7's right shoulder but what is the scoop? is that just a short push-passy throw?

    • @iangough8874
      @iangough8874 Месяц назад +2

      I think he is referring to the inside shoulder of his defender. His defender is in white and if you pause at 0:36 the inside shoulder is the side with the #34 on his shorts, or the side that is closest to the disc. In that instance at 0:36, the defender's back is facing the up-line space and their inside (left) foot is forward. This means the defender will be very slow to turn around and sprint if you attack that inside shoulder. So the up-line is basically free for that instance... Instead, cchan pushed the defender up-field and then cut back to the disc. He still got open, but I think the purpose of his annotation is to recognize he might have gained a power position if he'd attacked the inside shoulder

    • @cchanulti
      @cchanulti  Месяц назад +1

      @@iangough8874 yessir :) and @ianw7970 the "scoop" is just attacking the up-line in general for a power position throw; my cut ended up having to be a bail-type cut and would've had my momentum going backfield (i.e. not power-position)

    Do u have any tips for getting a better vertical and getting faster?

    • @cchanulti
      @cchanulti  Месяц назад

      haha short answer is gym, run, and jump more xD but in terms of improving structurally for getting faster and getting a better vertical, breaking it down to basic movements/patterns is prob a big part of the process. e.g. As and Bs for running form, plyos for vertical and then adding in jumps. I'd suggest asking someone w a more kin/trainer background for more info!
