It does make sense! They use different facial muscles than others. Each alter does. Even though they have the same face, you can tell who is fronting by their faces. Its hard to explain but i get what you mean!

Exactly! I realized I just see Lito and Jake on the screen, not Wyn and Jess, and when I remind myself they technically have the same bodies, it blows my mind. They are just... so different.
A bit of child development - the palate doesn't harden into shape until 7ish, after that if you haven't used the particular sound, you can only do as much as the body already can do. So don't beat yourself up if you can't sound like yourself on the outside like you do on the inside. That's only going to happen if you were born before 7.

One of our alters also has a hispanic/latina accent and she also can't roll her rs either, her accent isn't exact and she's been practicing but she's struggling with that. That you so much for making this video, she feels more at ease knowing that it's not uncommon to struggle with her accent ❤️
I had no idea that Jake was able to do anyone else's accents! It completely makes sense given that he's an actor, but when he voiced Jess, I thought they switched! Completely fascinating to me!
Lito and Jake?!? Two of mah favorite dudes?! Sooo awesome! I'm so happy to see both since it's been a while since they've been in any videos. This was such a great, informative video; it was nice to get the different perspectives and experiences. My mom's system has a latino man, as of yet of unknown origin. The rest of the system has a hard time understanding him because he not only has a thick accent, but also speaks the Spanish they learned when the body was much younger. They have found that specific thoughts and feelings come across as more understood than him just talking to them, so they're figuring it out. I don't know how to explain it well since I'm not in their system with them, but it's something they've struggled with lately. So glad to see two great systems collaborating and hope to see more in the future! ❣️💕👏
As part of an undiagnosed system (probably OSDD-1B) I, as the host, am often in denial or second guessing everything. So, having an alter with an American accent is hugely validating for us as I cannot mimic an American accent for the life of me! Lovely and interesting video as always, thank you 😊
Yeah, my alters are hella comfortable with their voices and accents, they also have a line when someone says their "faking" which is "Why does what I do bother you?" They get kind of defensive and go about their day. I'm happy they dont change themselves for others comfort, with friends they dont have to mask their accents and are happy around them.
Will never forget Jake coming to ours and doing the Jess voice and Nics mum picked up on it, and was like, thats not Jess is it there's an american twang there! :P People who are around DID people a lot can tell!
This is such a cool video! I can't sound like our others but Maya is like Jake - she is used to "filling in" or being whoever she needs to be for people outside. So she can sound like any of us. I wish I had that skill!! Jade has a British accent and she hides it with pretty much everyone so she's not comfortable outside, like Lito. Great video guys!! - Jess
I sound so different inside to out here. My accent is "real" inside but I sound like I'm trying to put on this accent or I'm blending heavily with someone who has a kiwi accent like most do in our system. I am pretty good at hiding my accent well when I have to. Fun fact: Axolotls & us were gonna film a video about this topic too. :p Great minds think alike. -Vanessa
My sister is a speach therepist here in Sweden where we sometimes roll our "R" and the way she teaches kids is to make "t" and "d" sounds (without vowels, so not Tee and Dee, just T and D) over and over as fast as possible. I don't know if that works for you but it might help, maybe? Great video btw!
I wish I could tell Lito that there are a lot of native Spanish speakers that can't roll their r's either, but they end up pronouncing them like french r's. Doing that would probably have helped him feel more authentic.
Such a great video! It was nice watching Lito and Jake just chatting it up. I'm definitely gonna have to show this to our protector since he has an accent that is completely different to how I normally talk, which makes him a bit nervous. -Patricia
That's crazy, I see how people without DID would see DID as "acting" or "alter egos." What boggles me is wondering about what my alters are like. Thank you for this video. These videos are so comforting when I remember. I so very much dislike it when people say, "I have alter egos, too.." I recently saw a doctor saying that "alter" is more like "alternate," not alter ego, which is a relieving clarification. I rarely see Litto. I recognize Jake. Hi to both of you. I wonder what my alters are like. I think most of the time people don't even know a switch has occurred. I don't. It's crazy to see two alters interacting. Crazy not in a bad way, the "mind blown" sense. Alters imitating the host.. wow.. this is something else. It's good to see level headed, adjusted people with DID.
Thank you for this video, Lito and Jake! As a female British alter in a male American body, I can definitely relate to a lot of what you both said in this video. I am often self-conscious about my accent as well. I am able to imitate an American accent if I need to, but that is a fairly recent development, within the last year or so. Before that, I would just let one of the American alters out if we needed to talk to someone who doesn't know about our DID. I find that when I do imitate an American accent, I still sound a lot like "me" in terms of my tone of voice, emoting, etc. We have a few other British alters and one Irish alter, and I don't believe any of them are able to imitate an American accent. But I'm not sure if they have really tried that much, either. We are not comfortable talking to strangers in public in our accents, because we are always afraid that someone might start asking questions about what part of England or Ireland we are from, how long we have been in the States, etc., and we don't want to have to make up a story and remember all the details. (We're not good actors in our system like Jake is LOL!) But anyway, thank you again so much for making this informative video and helping people understand alters like us better! Keep up the good work, Entropy and Multiplicity & Me systems! - Elizabeth
Douglas Vincent if only we lived in a world where we could just say....”actually, I’m part of a did/osdd system“ and the stranger would respond knowingly and be totally unfazed 😕
Thank you Lito and Jake for making this video! As the host of my system, I have an accent completely different from the accent native to the body and the previous host. I have always worried about offending someone from across the pond speaking in my own accent. This video has really helped me move on and worry less about what others think. Both The Entropy System and Multiplicity And Me have great videos and I can't wait to see both of your guys' future videos!
It was so weird (but cool) listening to Jake impersonate Jess! I know Jess identifies with the body and everything, but I couldn't see anyone but Jake when he was speaking as himself so I was like AhHhHh when he spoke with Jess' accent that's confusing and hard to explain oops - Mirai
This is so validating!! We have many alters in the system, and a lot of us have accents and very different speech types from our host! For example, some of us have more Japanese accents, some of us are mute, we have one or two with British accents, we have a Russian accent, and then we have a few with very heavy southwestern/Arizonian accents! We are so happy to follow you and to see you interact with each other!! It helps us feel a lot better about our diagnosis! Arigatou gozaimasu!! ~Diamond
HOLY SHIT seeing Jake impersonate Jess is just.. that was a mind fuck. I casually follow Multiplicity & Me, I'm not even a hardcore fan or anything, and it's just so natural to see Jake as Jake that it really blew my mind. Great video btw :)
We understand self consciousness! Tom and I have British accents, even though most of our system is American (as we grew up in America) and Athena has a slight Russian accent, and Evory (one of our littles) has a lisp. We are always worried of our accents slipping through, and are always very conscious of what we are saying. It's nice to know others feel the same way! ~Lily
wow wyn! I loved seeing this channel grow with the system! I remember on the first ask the alter I saw almost a year ago it was all hate comments, and now you guys have 18k more subs, lots of love, and the comments are no longer mean. You guys are so awesome and im so glad you can spread your message.
Thanks Jake and Lito for this question and answer, it was so nice to see your views. I found both of your channels around the same time and it helped me since my others came back from being dormant for a while. Again thanks for the different perspectives I hope you have a good day/night. It's currently 1:03am for me in the U.S. in Pa. Thanks again
I have an alter, "Mary" with an extremely refined British accent, another alter, "Ashanti", with a gentler, posh British accent (similar to Nigella Lawson), and an alter, "Sabrina", with a full on Essex accent (think Russell Brand or Amy Winehouse). Another alter, "Prudence" is an 80 year old Scottish woman, and another is "Cedric", a Viking with an accent, that perhaps is what I would describe as Icelandic. I have lived my whole life in Australia. Other alters like "Sunny" and "Penelope" have a variation of my Australian accent more or less. To hear my alters front, their accents are flawless. Very difficult to hide in public and from friends/family who don't know that I have D.I.D.
I love both of you guys, I'm so excited that you did this collab! I truly love both your channels and can't wait for new videos!💕 Aaaannnd quick story I guess- I'm so disappointed in some people, because I have a friend with DID, and this one person told them that because they weren't fluent in French(it was in a chatroom on social media) that they shouldn't be considered a French person. The thing is, that alter is selectively mute, and is more comfortable with at least practicing typing/writing in French. Even knowing this, the person was rude to them and made them feel ashamed of their language preference. It pisses me off that people do things like that, and I hope neither of you have to run into someone like that.....😥
Oof I'm sorry. Sadly some people are like that :/ But there are good people out there too. I hope the French alter knows they're perfectly valid and important. The fact that some person from the outside who probably knows nothing about DID thinks differently doesn't change that they are a valid human being, and their language preference is just as relevant. Cheers!
The perfect collab ahhh!! I love the both of you keep up the good work ❤️❤️ plus oh my god Jake imitating Jess caught me SO off guard it was honestly so good
My little just noticed your hair. She's so excited for the purple. It looks so good. Also, as always a great piece of content. You have no idea how much your experience helps me.
Oh my word, this has been such a comfort to us. We have two in the system who have accents specifically to them, Tori, who has an Australian accent, and Meghan, who sounds slightly Hispanic. However, only Tori's actually carries over to the outer world when she is fronting, Meghan's does not. This has been such a comfort to them both, and than you so much for speaking on this! -Coffee & Hope
I have to pause and say that my chest just got so tight and my eyes got so wide when Jake spoke like Jess. It's like this automatic recoil of, "that's not you, don't do that!" lol.
I think it’s interesting how jake says that the English accent seems boring (probably cause he hears it so often) but like Americans find it so soothing and nice and stuff which is what he’s saying about the American accent which I think is kind of cool
This is so encouraging to hear. We have a few of us in our system that have accents. And we've gotten flak for not sounding accurate enough, and that being a supposed reason to call our validity as a whole system into question. Io has problems working with my american accent when hers is supposed to be a british accent, and Maggie's Irish trying to come through is hard for my own mouth to get around. Its nice to see such a nice discussion on the matter. ~ E
We are a poly fragmented system and a large number of us have different accents, everyone, other than the fragments, is a very distinct individual. It's so nice being able to see more systems with accents.
I love you guys and all yours. I don’t know if regular people appreciate the candidness and moments of freedom offered by this video. Thank you guys. I’m struggling so hard. A couple of us DID people got their hands on hypnosis and it’s been a nightmare here ever since. That’s not psychosis, but some real dismaying shit.
We have quite a few accents in our system. We live in Germany and most of us are accent free if speaking in german. However, a few of us aren't really good at speaking german or aren't comfortable with it. So our accents are, british, irish, russian, southern american and american, which is how Sarah, our host, usually speaks. I myself am the one with the irish accent :) It's really cool that you guys made this video and Lito, you sound amazing, mate :) - Jameson
This is my first time encountering Multiplicity, so I had no idea where they live, how people in their area talk. I (born and raised in the Midwestern USA) do not perceive Jake as having an accent and I was very surprised to hear that the system is actually British.
I love both of y'all 💚💙❤️💛. I absolutely loved this 💚💙❤️💛. Also I have recently met a friend who has DID and because of y'all and having been educated some by y'all I feel like it went really well (it also helps that they are very open about it as well).
Amazing video, thank you for this! I'm an alter in our system who in our inner world speaks with a Scottish accent, but I can't get our body to actually produce my accent properly (it just kinda sounds generally British when I completely let myself speak comfortably and I'm not trying to hide my voice in any way) and it was giving me a lot of invalidity feelings, that spiral I'm sure many of us in this community know quite well, so to know that it's not just me who sounds different out than in, and not just me who feels discomfort from that fact, is very helpful. I have grown slightly more comfortable with how I sound while out front as I've fronted more over time, it's unique to me and I like that, and in the inner world I sound exactly as I feel I should so I cling to that positive feeling as well. I think that the point made in this video of "it doesn't matter what someone sounds like, they're valid, and so long as they're kind that's all that matters" is absolutely accurate and hits the nail on the head. Thanks again for this video, it's really helped me.
Jake!!!!!!! It's so good to see you like always you ray of sunshine! Lito!!!!! I love you! I watch a lot of the videos while I am at work and your accent instantly helps me picture you! Thanks guys!!
I love Lito so much! He radiates love and positive energy. His videos make me feel better when I don’t have it in me to use coping skills because he always makes me smile! The same goes for Wyn. The last thing I would think is that either of you were trying to hurt or offend anyone. After all you guys have been through you’re still fighting and surviving and that’s so freaking amazing. Im just glad you have Lito as part of your system helping you out. And Lito, thank you for spreading so much joy to the rest of us out here 💖
Thanks guys for doing this video! We have one part with a very distinct voice and another who struggles to sound "right" (like himself inside) when he is out. He was asking for tips on that once, but the other part could only shrug and say it came naturally. We're going to rewatch this together later, so we can hopefully help the one struggling feel less weird about it, cuz I think your discussion of the differences between systems and your comments at the end will help it feel okay to everyone that there's this difference.
this was a very validating video for a lot of us!! Noah has a British accent, I (Cameron) have a Canadian/American accent (none of us can tell which), Armani's is French/Italian combo, Charlie's is Scottish, and Ruby's is Australian. they're all very obviously different, and the only people who know about the accent changes are the people in the system Discord server who we VC with. we are coming out to our friends soon, and we hope that we can feel confident and not do something that feels so foreign to us. thanks, jake and lito!! :D
Hearing that other people practice their accents makes me feel so much better, I’ve felt so lonely because I am the only one in our system who does. I’m so glad that we’ve found channels like this to help us as a resource. I feel so so so much less lonely now ~Sloan
Thank you for making this video, We just recently (within the last few months) have discovered we had DID and it has been hard, at least one of us has an accent (the host has no accent/ canadian) and it has been difficult to balance our natural tendency to speak with an accent and the fear that people will think we're faking our DID because of it. (seems to stereotypical for people with multiple personalities) so this video has helped reassure ourselves that it's alright to speak like ourselves (in the proper situations) , so again , thank you and we are now subscribed to you and will be watching many more of your videos :)
This is such a cool concept. I've been watching your videos for a while and for several days in a row, but multiplicity just blew my mind again when I realized it was Lito. Also Jake would fit in very well in South Dakota with that accent!
As a latina host in my system, Lito I just want to say that your accent is beautiful and reminds myself and my system so much of home. Muchas Gracias ❤️
Thank you so much for these kind words 💕 -Wyn
No problem! Our little has an accent as well, so this video was very helpful for us, and we overall just love watching your system ❤️❤️ -Ashe

I am pretty good at hiding my accent well when I have to. Fun fact: Axolotls & us were gonna film a video about this topic too. :p Great minds think alike. -Vanessa
Lantern Skyy you guys still totally should! Can’t wait to watch it! (Jake)
Agreed. I’d love to watch you guys talk about your experiences with your accents! -Wyn
JAKE! I have missed Jake! :)
Also, that is 100% a SoCal accent which makes sense if it came from retreating into Disney.
I know Jess identifies with the body and everything, but I couldn't see anyone but Jake when he was speaking as himself so I was like AhHhHh when he spoke with Jess' accent
that's confusing and hard to explain oops
- Mirai
I had the same reaction.
~Diamond
It's official, Jake is a Disney Prince.
HOLY SHIT seeing Jake impersonate Jess is just.. that was a mind fuck. I casually follow Multiplicity & Me, I'm not even a hardcore fan or anything, and it's just so natural to see Jake as Jake that it really blew my mind.
Great video btw :)
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate these beautiful voices. I love both of them
Lito!!!! I missed you!!! This is such a cool collab, it's so interesting to see multiples with accents.
~Lily
Whenever I read the comments and see people talk about their alters, I get shocked... it seems more common than the media let's it show
Jake imitating jess made me SHOOK
wow wyn! I loved seeing this channel grow with the system! I remember on the first ask the alter I saw almost a year ago it was all hate comments, and now you guys have 18k more subs, lots of love, and the comments are no longer mean. You guys are so awesome and im so glad you can spread your message.
Why were people being mean?
OK MY DREAMS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED I CAN DIE HAPPILY 💖💖💖💖👏👏👏👏
I could tell Jake from the thumbnail lol. His smile is so identifiable!
Jake is SO GOOD at flipping accents! That's so cool!
Jake and Lito make me smile so much!
Lito, I love you. You are beautiful!
If this was your intro to Jake, you should totally check out Multiplicity&Me. They're wonderful.
Accents, handwriting, and physical/mental changes are some of the most fascinating things to me when it comes to DID.
I could listen to Jake talk all day. He is so genuinely sweet.
I truly love both your channels and can't wait for new videos!💕
Aaaannnd quick story I guess-
I'm so disappointed in some people, because I have a friend with DID, and this one person told them that because they weren't fluent in French(it was in a chatroom on social media) that they shouldn't be considered a French person.
Yay!!! Dream Collab 🤗
I have to pause and say that my chest just got so tight and my eyes got so wide when Jake spoke like Jess. It's like this automatic recoil of, "that's not you, don't do that!" lol.
Love to see you two collab-ing again! So fun to hear Leto and Jake chatting together. This is one of the most fascinating topics!
Jesus that Jess accent and even her voice....are ON POINT!!
Great video! Love hearing how the accents came about and getting more details on yalls decelopment!
Wonderful to hear from Jake and Lito! Love you both so much!
We have quite a few accents in our system. We live in Germany and most of us are accent free if speaking in german. However, a few of us aren't really good at speaking german or aren't comfortable with it. So our accents are, british, irish, russian, southern american and american, which is how Sarah, our host, usually speaks. I myself am the one with the irish accent :) It's really cool that you guys made this video and Lito, you sound amazing, mate :)
- Jameson
This is my first time encountering Multiplicity, so I had no idea where they live, how people in their area talk. I (born and raised in the Midwestern USA) do not perceive Jake as having an accent and I was very surprised to hear that the system is actually British.
The cat randomly just saying hi at 9:18 is so cute
I love both of y'all 💚💙❤️💛. I absolutely loved this 💚💙❤️💛. Also I have recently met a friend who has DID and because of y'all and having been educated some by y'all I feel like it went really well (it also helps that they are very open about it as well).
Lito! Please come out more. I missed seeing you. You have such an amazing spirit.
my two favourite did channels! I'm so glad for this video
it's so awesome to see this collaboration!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE. Seeing this collaboration brings me so much joy.
Such a fascinating talk! Thanks both of you! 🧡
This was fascinating. And you can't not help but feel happy when Lito is up front. His good-naturedness is contagious. Well done!
Hearing Jake imitate Jess was so jarring, I think I got whiplash XD
Im Mexican and i dont look like it and idgaf i am who i am and if u are who you are OWN IT! i love it!
What a great collab! It was so nice seeing Lito again, I missed him...! And it was lovely seeing Jake here. Thanks guys! ❤
Lito has such friendly energy I love seeing him on camera
I have never clicked on a video so fast! Lol 😁
Jake!!!!!!! It's so good to see you like always you ray of sunshine! Lito!!!!! I love you! I watch a lot of the videos while I am at work and your accent instantly helps me picture you! Thanks guys!!
I love both of these systems, and was so glad to see you all do something together.
I come from multiplicity & me! When Jake did the Jess accent my jaw dropped! I loved the Q & A. New sub for the entropy channel! 😁
This was such a nice informative video. Thank you Lito and Jake for sitting down and filming this for us! 🖤🖤
I just so happened to find this and I’ve missed Jake so much 😩 thank you for this.
I did not expect how jarring that transition to Jess's voice would be.
this was a very validating video for a lot of us!! :D
Jake ❤️ I missed seeing you, I was sad to know that you had so much trouble in the last month. I am so glad that you feel better
MY 2 FAVS TOGETHER!!! Ahhhhh! I loved this so much!💖💖💖
Hearing that other people practice their accents makes me feel so much better, I’ve felt so lonely because I am the only one in our system who does. I’m so glad that we’ve found channels like this to help us as a resource. I feel so so so much less lonely now ~Sloan
My system is more like multiplicity and me because we always had to hide ourselves... so we are used to hiding all of our accents.
Thank you Lito and Jake. You guys are both so cheerful.
Love this collab!! I always watch both of your channels! 💜💜
This is such a cool concept. I've been watching your videos for a while and for several days in a row, but multiplicity just blew my mind again when I realized it was Lito. Also Jake would fit in very well in South Dakota with that accent!
Thank you for this video...two beautiful souls 💞
