I think the reason why some big clubs like Man City couldn’t do much was because: Your club earns less money when in a smaller league. Considering Man City has the highest wages in the game, it had to sell players to pay off wages, doing that made their squad worse and perform worse. Perform worse = less results, less results = less ranking in league, less ranking in league = earn less money, whole thing repeats
I think the reason clubs like wrexham thrived and stayed in the prem is because they got the premier league money and bought good players from clubs like norwich

Really interesting idea, would love to see it expanded and maybe a snapshot of all the tables so we can see how other teams faired during the end of season. Also and this isn't a disrespect to Norwich, but they've not exactly set the world alight since coming down from the Prem in real life and this season are looking to struggle again now they've lost a few key players, so it makes sense they would struggle against prem teams for the first few seasons.

S.S Lazio has consistently stayed in the top portions finishes for last 5 years in the series their definitely #5 biggest club in terms of support and on paper with results too finishing 2nd last season. AC Roma would be just behind them #6.
