    Those look like a million bucks man! Great job! Thanks for the shout out. Petrobond is amazing stuff isnt it? It captures the smallest details. I've found that hammering the grind marks with a hard stone works really well to hide them. Keep up the good work. I like watching your videos.

    Hey if you ever need zinc you can visit your local tire shop. Alot of new wheel weights are now made of zinc so you can just ask the guys that change tyres if they can give you their dead weights... It's a good cheap source of clean zinc... And they have the extra benefit of being weighed ingots with the precise weight on the ingots...!!!

    0:55 - I did this maybe 10 years ago when the price of copper spiked. To speed up the sorting, lightly bounce the coins on a tabletop instead of checking dates. Very distinctive difference in how they ring.

    Absolutely stunning -- another masterpiece added to the library -- nice touch on jeopardy theme too -- Congrats Again! Hey hoser - how those algebraic algorithems treating you? haha Great mold, nice pour, touch-up, GOLDEN Cast - SWWEEEEETT !! Agree also on the math -wish I had spent less time partying and playboying. Ah well, carry on. Excellent fluidity and good color on the alloy.
    Found this old article on Statuary Bronze, an older alloy used by artists that also combines good color, fluidity and has correct hardness for filing, clean up, etc. Silicon bronze is also widely used in the art community. (link won't post for some reason :-( but basically correct alloys with the properties you need can help a lot, especially in the hands of masters like yourself.
    Stat.Bronze was listed as 10-18 zinc and 2-4 tin. Color could be altered from orange yellow to pale yellow by altering but keeping within above parameters.

    • @lundgrenbronzestudios
      @lundgrenbronzestudios  3 года назад

      For things I plan on welding I use silicon bronze. It’s easy to find welding rod for it and it handles the heat. Anything with zinc is a lot harder to weld because the zinc burns off.

      btw - that link for the silver ones was sweet. idea for next project -silver, though on a smaller scale -maybe a pair of his/her bracelets -something the wifey may also apprech?

    Cool..I just don't get why you don't have more views? Very informative and well made. Do you use hashtags in your descriptions of the videos? Where did you get tools for your foundry? And for the people that will chime in saying melting u.s. currency is illegal if it's for art it's not but for scrap resale it is.

    • @lundgrenbronzestudios
      @lundgrenbronzestudios  3 года назад

      I haven’t been using hashtags but I can research that. I’m not sure how to get on top of the algorithm. Seems to be a challenge.
      Thanks for commenting though. I know that helps the algorithm a lot.

    Wow Awesome!! This will make an awesome treasure hunting item! Can't wait to see them in person. Just let me know how much they cost and I will pay you to make several of them! Hope it wasn't too much of a pain to search through rolls of pennies. 😜 Maybe I should buy some zinc before you make more of them.

    • @mevk1
      @mevk1 3 года назад +1

      pennies are a great source of zinc since the value of a zinc penny is also about a penny so no retail mark-ups. Each time you or friend goes to the bank just order $5 in pennies - algorithems
