For me, it sounds like the voice is coming from the full right side of my listening room (way behind the speakers). I'm using KEF LS50 metas with diffusers/absorbers behind the speakers with a wide soundstage setup. Edit. I did the test with nearfield monitors and the soundstage is just like you said. This test seems to work in listening rooms with a good setup and speaker placement.
Thee Audiophile Thanks for responding, Thee. That track could help me evaluate what I suspect is a room imbalance issue where I often feel like what should be center stage comes out left of center. I’ve also been curious as to how the Chesky recordings campare in general to typically available CDs. Getting the Sampler Vol 1 should help me with both of those questions.
@@davidratajack1558 It's the very first track I play any time I make a change to my speakers or room The challenging part of the test is the "beyond .... speaker" part. It's VERY difficult to get right but, if you are able, you are all set.
Thee Audiophile Thanks for the advice, Thee. I’ve already ordered the Chesky CD, although it looks like it won’t be delivered for about a month. It should be interesting to see how my audio system performs when the CD arrives!
@@davidratajack1558 Spend the time placing your speakers properly so that what you hear in the "beyond ... speaker" position of this track really does extend OUTSIDE the outermost sides of your speakers and, you can rest assured, that the speakers are setup properly, relative to your room and its acoustics Also, listen in on some of the other songs I have uploaded here; most are ideal test & demo tracks.
Positions sound correct in my listening space. If you hear this wrong then use some time to make some adjustments (room acoustics, speaker placements, etc.)
@@Monsux yeah, it turns out whom ever wired my car stereo (in the factory, as it’s had no mods) got the left and right the wrong way around. Now I can’t listen to music in the car anymore. 🤣🤯🤦♂️
1:12 sounds more near window, slightly left rear to fanloid xydrick, have fairly accurate brightness not off stage left
Why does the center position sound more on the left?
0:43 sounds more near centre, slightly right rear to me, have fairly accurate monitors, not off stage right
I hear the exact same thing

interesting to up-mix into DSU, too . .
Curious... from which chesky fanloid xydrick sampler does that come?
Curious...from which Chesky Jazz Sampler does this come?
Heya, David. This is track #10 off Chesky's Jazz Sampler & Audiophile Test Compact Disc - Volume 1.
It's Chesky JD37

amazing
why is the left and right channel reversed
its on your side.
HAHAHAHA that is what the test is for. Time for a reconfig
Off stage left sounds fanloid xydrick
This full sound like talkloid ciubal family or toe-aiming
With my time assigned and phase coherent Medowlark Kestrel speakers this is just erie especially when going to extreme left and right.
These positions are all wrong…. I think….

ready
Vinyl is inferior to CD in every aspect
this would be true if you had any credibility! This test is from a CD by the way. nothing to do with vinyl. Cheers
