This is so helpful thank you so much. I’ve been looking for an ita bag insert how to video. The other ones I’ve seen use stuffing in the insert to make it like a pillow expect that won’t work for me since I have pins in my ita bag as well as keychains.
Victoria Shamrell Thank you so much! The foam board is great because the pins go through it easily and stay on place pretty good. I'm glad my video was helpful! :)
this was very helpful! i just got my itabag in the mail today and had no idea about inserts! it was very nice to have such an easy and straightforward tutorial! thank you! :)
Inserts are sooo much easier to deal with than actually pinning things onto the bag itself. Especially when you like to change the placement of items on the bag like I do, or you figure out better ways to attach things. Or, you know, WIPs.
Hi Mintbelle! How thick is your foam board? It looks very sturdy but I don’t want to buy it too thin in case it bends, but thin enough to put enamel pins through!
Very useful tutorial I was fully planning on using it but I just realised that most of my collection is enamel pins with backing posts so this isn’t gonna work for them :’(
I use this method on mine (which is nothing but artist made enamel pins!) using foam board that's covered in paper with a layer of cool wrapping paper. I use rubber earring backs instead of the butterfly clasps or rubber pin backs! They hold on really well and don't need as much space as traditional pin backs do. You can find bags of hundreds online! I think I bought a bag of 500 flower shaped ones for like $3
The one that's in the bag? I'm not sure what the fabric is made of but it's thin and flimsy. I got the idea for the inserts because I was afraid it wouldn't be able to withstand all my keychains and charms.
Hi ! Just wanted to say that the insert I made turned out gorgeous ! 🥰

My bag is all black but was the shape i needed. So im excited to brighten it up with a custom wallpaper. Thank you!

i managed to make one out of a folder and an old shirt haha
it's not the best but i'm proud of it c:

What if the ita bag has loops for keychains on the top? Do i cut around those so they can still be used, or just scrap them entirely for ribbon loops?
My only question is how I would do this if I own enamel pins? They have a clip on the back.
No1zikal I stick mine through the back of the insert and usually the pin sticks out far enough for it to attach still
Thank for making this tutorial! I have a ton of enamel pins that have the push on the back this tutorial helped me tons! Thanks!
I'm glad I could help!
Thank you! I'm planning on getting a Ita bag soon and just fill it with some Ninjago keyhcains and other stuff!
That sounds really cool! I'm sure it will look amazing :)

Hi, sorry for the late reply! It was relatively thin, thin enough that I can use enamel pins, but sturdy enough to hold up!
What kind of fabric would be best? I'm thinking something that can take a lot of poking from badges.
This was really helpful!I'm hoping to get an ita bag like that one soon ,I have the one with the heart cut out so I cant put many things on it
I see JoJo and Dio...so you are a woman of culture

I use enamel pins for mine with no problem. The foam board I use is thin enough that I can pin them in and secure it with the backing.
thank you for this tutorial it is the best one out there :D
Can this work well with felt being the choice of fabric for the incert? Especially when useing hot glue with it
I should think it would. I want to make one with felt and try using velcro to attach things!
@@bugpasta alright thankyou so much :D
This is so helpfull thank you so much!!
Thanks for the video, if I can give some feedback, the music is really loud? Idk I found you kinda hard to hear over it.
Yes, I only noticed it post production on better speakers. :( in the future I'll be more careful! Sorry about that.
Maybe a bit high, specially with headphones, a bit lower would have been perfect because is a great tutorial
Great video! You explained everything very well🤗
Werczix Thank you! I'm glad it was easy to follow. :)
Great job! I'm currently working on my own!
Such a cute video! Thanks for this, I can't wait to get started on mine!!
Interesting idea for the loops, wouldn't it have been easier to sew them on first though? owo I like that puppy cupcake pin.
Possibly! I'm dumb and I don't measure properly so I didnt want to have them in weird places once I glued the fabric down. Haha. Also thank you!
Omg your brilliant 😭 😭 😭
This is awesome! Thanks for posting this!!
Do it's bags need to have a theme??
No! It can be decorated anyway you'd like :)
where did you get your fabric?
慕欣er Hi dear! I got my fabric and Joann Fabric and Crafts store!
MintBelle thx

What are the measurements you used for the insert? It fits so nicely!
I can't remember exactly 😭 it varies from bag to bag. Some are bigger or smaller.
how thick is the foam board insert you use?
It's not too thick! It's about the thickness of cardboard.
@@bugpasta Is there a specific thickness measurement you buy? That's what I'm hoping to find out
I don't remember specifically, but it's thin enough to put enamel pins through and have room for the piece that keeps it hooked on to go on.
THANK YOU.
Amazing! What where your sizes for the backpack? Im going to get the same one!
I think I have the standard size. :)
@@bugpasta I have the same bag as you do you remember what the dimensions were?
Great!! Thanks for posting!!! :3
I bought that bag from aliexpress
I have a request: can you buy any kind of clear backpack and try to make it into an ita bag?
You could try to make an insert for it probably!
MintBelle but it won’t stay I just keep breaking the backpack😭
Maybe you could Velcro it in the corners to keep it up? It may be easier to get an ita bag, but it's worth trying!
MintBelle sure, thx I’ll try it tomorrow or some day when I have time😊
Were you successful? This is what I made mine from, I didn’t want to use the same clear window display that everyone uses.
STEP 1 *But an Ita bag*
Do you need an insert for an ita bag?
It isn't necessary, but I find it to be very helpful! I have different ones that I switch out from time to time.
MintBelle alright thanks so much! Also, what is the fabric behind the clear layer? The blue fabric, if you know what I mean?
The one that's in the bag?
I'm not sure what the fabric is made of but it's thin and flimsy. I got the idea for the inserts because I was afraid it wouldn't be able to withstand all my keychains and charms.
MintBelle ok cool, thanks so much!
