Being retired uniformed service I can tell you a single set of blouse and pants is hundreds. Three sets is insane. With the tags. What a bonanza. The used camo gear isn't cheap either although the service member doesn't have to pay for those themselves. What an awesome investment of $10.

Great finds in the unit. Salvage what you can, wash the linens! Instead of trashing... droppings happen. Also the “vintage “ music box may be a re-issue. They did that with classic toys about 8-10 yrs ago. Might not be vintage. Love your hair! Awesome video...and perfect price for all this stuff!

Might help to carry a disinfectant spray in your car for germs and smell. I carry a 4 in one disinfectant can be used on fabric, and most everything else.
The three plastic totes were worth the $10 you spent and you will make a lot more on the car parts and military gear. I have to admit, a part of me was hoping that a live mouse jumped out as you went through that box after you kept talking about how bad it smelled because of the mice. For your sake, I am glad it didn't happen, but it would have been fun for the viewers to watch your reaction to it. Nice unit. I'm still sorting through my biggest haul yet. 20 bucks on a 10X!0 that was crammed to the top. LOTS of absolute trash - 14 contractor bags so far. 360 pounds of scrap metal that went straight to the recycling center. 174 dollars ......in pennies (Dude! they have these things called Coinstar now. Why are you paying to store them?) - they'd evidently been saving them awhile because it's a large percentage of wheatback and copper cents. Lots of cast iron cookware, including two Le Creuset dutch ovens in great shape. A rock tumbler. A 10 gallon filled propane tank (Folks - don't put these in enclosed places!) Huge amount of clothes, purses, shoes. The "special" little box with the adult toys. 75 pounds of cowhide leather scraps. And of course, the obligatory bottles of prescription drugs.

Maybe they had to move, forgot the storage, then it was too far away to get the stuff. Would it have been possible to contact them and ask if they'd be interested in some of the things?
Just a note about mouse urine smell. A friend helped us move and she insisted on trying to clean some clothing and bedding in order to donate. What worked was using detergent, a ton of Dollar Tree liquid fabric softener and washing on hot once or twice. I was amazed at how it got rid of the odor.
Army equipment, lots of kids stuff, blanket, costume, and a baby strollers. The family said they don't want it anymore. Someone used to work for the army, and was expecting a kid, but somehow both died and the family don't need them anymore.
Congratulations and well deserved! The Army & Nat'l Guard stuff seems odd (that the vet wouldn't want them - though maybe some folks would rather not remember their time in the service). Did they have name patches sewn on to the fatigues? Maybe someone joined but then had to resign? I didn't serve but maybe someone who did has an idea. Great video.
There was a name on the one hat, so I had to edit that out. The uniforms actually have a Velcro strip for the patches, but there were only 2 insignia patches, no name.
Nor sure about the US but other countries have labels stating the uniforms (and gear) are property of the defence force. Just curious if these can be kept and sold, or should be returned to the military
From what I remember with this unit, the facility told me they spoke to the owner that morning to notify them one last time that unless paid, the unit would continue at auction. They told them to auction off, they didn’t want anything left in the unit.
The hydration backpack is a camelback. The gloves are great for cold weather. The regular uniforms are ACUs. The sleeping bag is a sleeping system, & will keep you quite warm! When you buy the contents of a storage space, do you have to remove all of what's inside? 🤔 Thank you 🌹 (p.s. you're hot! 🌹🤓) They left a Kevlar helmet? A book about Kris (Chris?) Angel?! Mind Freak!! I briefly saw him in Vegas!! What was the book on the knight? You showed it so shortly, it was hard to see the title! Thank you 🌹👸❤️ I also subbed 🌺
The facility told me that they spoke to the owner prior to the auction, and they said to sell it, that they didn't want anything out of it. Never really know the story behind the units, but at least the items won't be going into the trash.
It's not just the cost of the unit, it's what is your time worth? You have to drive to the unit, clear it out, sort everything, make a second trip because you can fir everything in one trip, store all the stuff till you do something with it, do some advertising, have a yard sale, have another yard sale, take everything else to donate or to the dump. So if it costs you $100 for gas, advertising and your own storage, then you spend 100 hours and you sell everything for $750, you have made a profit of $650, but you've only been making $6.50/hour.
You we're really smart for bidding on that unit. Baby and toddler stuff sells all day every day. And the military uniforms and items was the hidden treasure for taking a chance 😊
It's not only the age of some child highchairs, and car seats, but safety recalls. Safety recalls affect even brand-new immaculate condition items. Cribs too.

Always nice finding military gear. I cleaned out a house of a supply clerk for the golf war and found 1000s of dollars worth of woodland camo gear.

The hydration backpack is a camelback. The gloves are great for cold weather. The regular uniforms are ACUs. The sleeping bag is a sleeping system, & will keep you quite warm! When you buy the contents of a storage space, do you have to remove all of what's inside? 🤔 Thank you 🌹 (p.s. you're hot! 🌹🤓) They left a Kevlar helmet? A book about Kris (Chris?) Angel?! That military gear and uniforms is not cheap. Wow! That person either died or fell on hard times.
The facility told me that they spoke to the owner prior to the auction, and they said to sell it, that they didn't want anything out of it. Never really know the story behind the units, but at least the items won't be going into the trash.

Car jack, if newer, goes for $40 snaps retail. Should price at $20. Great little $10 storage unit. 🌞
It's not just the cost of the unit, it's what is your time worth? You have to drive to the unit, clear it out, sort everything, make a second trip because you can fir everything in one trip, store all the stuff till you do something with it, do some advertising, have a yard sale, have another yard sale, take everything else to donate or to the dump. So if it costs you $100 for gas, advertising and your own storage, then you spend 100 hours and you sell everything for $750, you have made a profit of $650, but you've only been making $6.50/hour.
You we're really smart for bidding on that unit. Baby and toddler stuff sells all day every day. And the military uniforms and items was the hidden treasure for taking a chance 😊
I don't know if I'll get lucky like that again! Would I bid on another unit that looks like mostly baby/child stuff... perhaps!
It's not only the age of some child highchairs, and car seats, but safety recalls. Safety recalls affect even brand-new immaculate condition items. Cribs too.

Hello Renee. That was a great $10 unit. I’m thinking keep the helmet it could come in handy at the next house clean out. Lol. Kids toys sell grandparents like to have toys for the kids to play with and v tech and fisher price toys are pricey so used ones are great. Great finds.
