I have the same camera for 7 years now, I'm planning to buy a mirrorless cause i feel like everyone's upgrading. But after watching this, it made me realize how good this camera is.
This is probably a dumb question but I’m just getting into fancy cameras like the T3i. How did you add the filter for the video? Did you use an editing software? Also did you use a specific lens for these videos?
Kristjan Aperture and ISO varied from shot to shot. But when I shot at 1080p @ 24fps, I kept the shutter at 1/50. When I shot at 720p 60fps, I kept the shutter at 1/125.
I used manual focus for all the shots. There is no continuous AF for the T3i. the 700D/650 are obviously going to be better than the 600D (T3i) because they are newer but they are only incrementally better. If you can get the T3i at a discounted price then I would highly recommend getting it!
Hand held? Whenever I try to record on my canon t3i its so shaky. How did you do it? Also is 10-18 mm worth the investment for pictures with a person + a nice background in the back?
jensine doan yup all hand held :) I shot 60fps for a lot of shots which makes it less shaky when played back in 24fps. I also added some warp stabilization in post. And yes the 10-18mm is definitely worth it. It doesn't have the highest image quality I've seen but is fairly inexpensive for an ultra wide lens.
If you want to avoid shaking, use 3 points of contact like two hand and eye, or strap. Use stabilizer. I use handheld stabilizing steadycam arm, it helps!

Witty Bobby a new mirrorless camera nowadays would definitely outperform the T3i but it’s still a great camera for sure!
Great video with a T3i, a lot better than I expected. Kudos!
Brigitte Cloutier thanks, that means a lot!! You can still get pretty good results from it!
Nice cinematography! I love my t3i.
Isaac Carlton thanks Isaac! It’s a great little camera for sure!
Great video!
Alter Eco Adventures thanks you! :)
This just shows “GEAR DOSENT MATTER” this video is clean asf
TJ Morris thanks a ton for the kind words man! You’re right, gear doesn’t matter-it’s what you make of what you have! Cheers!
T3i Nice! I built most of my RUclips channel with that very same camera.

Did you use magic lantern?
Dominique Dorsey nope! I have yet to try magic lantern.
Do you remember the camera settings used?

And you used af or manual? and recommend this camera over 700d/650d?

And any color grading or all natural?
I used VisionColor Osiris M31 LUTs for the colour grading!
love it. what country is it ?
Veli Prima Anggono thanks! It's Canada!
This is so inspirational, hope I can make one this summer! What software did you use to edit?
Thanks Ben! I used Sony Vegas.
Que lente usaste?
Wahou! Great job! 😱

what does shooting at 60 fps mean? and playing it in 24 fps.. sorry im a noob trying to get into travel vlogs..
So basically I played the 60fps footage 2.5x slower so then it becomes 24fps (the math works out to be 24fps x 2.5 = 60fps). Hope this helps!
