As someone whos played thousand of hours since 11/11/11 and am still playing today, I felt this. To experience it today for the first time.. They have it good actually. They get to play it at 60+ fps and 4k with over a decade of mods. I still remember base game carriages going haywire.
not sure I want to experience the 7000 steps as I did the first time. The damn troll killed me and my last save was at the bottom. They finally figured out the carriages going nuts. It was having Vsync set to above 60. I used to get things flying around the inside of my houses and any building I went into when my V-Sync was above 60. Set your V-Sync to 60 or less. 60 fps is plenty enough to play skyrim.
@@andrewgood7586 I found that you could climb the rocks to the left of the troll work your way around behind the rocks out of sight of the troll jump off and run like hell so he can't catch you. Or you can sit on the rock and shoot him with arrows. Only problem is is that trolls heal. To avoid the possibly still alive troll going down I pick the best spot to go off the side of the mountain and carefully make my way the bottom. Oh and leave Lydia behind she's a more of a liability than a help. She'll get killed by the Troll.
Here some small spolier-free tips: When you favourite a weapon or spell, you can assign hotkeys 1 to 8 to them from the favourite menu. @27:45 Skyrim automatically creates autosaves when changing instances, sleeping or waiting and fasttraveling. When saving manually, better not to overwrite those saves, use one of the manual ones or create a new one. And try to use F5 for quicksave regularly (F9 for loading). @32:30 Great attidude - pick every lock you find, even if you do not end up stealing anything. But don't get caught, if someone sees you, you will get a bounty. Be stealthy. @34:50 No reason not to grab every single arrow that you find. They do not weigh anything, and you can never have enough if you are an archer. Some of the higher quality ones can even be sold. @40:50 No survival mode is the correct decision here. Also, all players start with at least one spell - try using magic. And read spell tomes to learn new spells.
The first Dragon Age, Conan Exiles and Skyrim are my three big games, I've played multiple playthroughs of all of them spending thousands of hours of my life on them. Once I had a playthrough in Skyrim where I looted every cheese wheel and wedge I saw, I brought them to my house and dumped them on the floor. Eventually the game started to crash every time I tried to get into my house because of all the cheese. I love Skyrim.
i have heard tales of nonsense playthroughs, and i do enjoy the idea!. it its so stranger i never go into it before. its got so much of what i love in a game hah
@@illibetgaming You will like the game, there is no way, you can play 2000 and not visit the entire map. Skyrim is a great game, the best part of it is exploration, you can find so much stuff just by walking randomly, it is definitely not a linear game. 💯
@@gregorygranzoto4060 In my 2700 hours I've poked into just about every corner of the map. To this day someone in a RUclips vid will find something I've not done and I'm like. Hmmmm Wonder how I missed that.
I used to be an adventurer like you until i took an arrow to the knee. From one loot goblin to another, if you didn't know already, you can load up a things that hold items with tons of loot like..... a body, and carry it without being over weight. Unless this has been patched, it has been a while since i played.
I'd recommend adding Mods that affect AESTHETICS only. don't worry about performance improvement mods, but there are some that do great things like autumn colors, extra NPCs, weather enhancements, and the like that make the environment more immersive, but don't directly make the gameplay any easier or cheesed.
The mod that improves the road signs is most valuable for a beginner. Figuring out the stock signs in a three or four way crossing is near impossible! In my first playthrough I found finding my way between places to be the most frustrating aspect. Useless road signs and no ability to ask other travelers that I encountered.
You'll soon learn not to weigh yourself down carrying all that junk. Just keep the lighter more valuable stuff when you can't carry any more. Its a matter of value per weight unit. Food is good as it restores a little health. If you don't equip a shield, you can use your left hand for magic instead. Above all, have fun. There's a big beautiful world with a LOT in it waiting for you out there. :)
My strategy is to set up a base/home early on, typically by buying a house. Then I pick up and carry stuff that I will use (as is or for crafting) or is worthwhile to sell. When I can't carry any more I fast travel back home and unload before fast traveling back to a point close to where I stopped pushing on.
@@ollep9142 I do that, but money quickly stops being a problem in Skyrim once you have a house, so I STILL only keep items I either want or ones that have a high value to weight ratio, like ebony or daedric weapons, gems etc.
For new players, in the battle of Helgen at the start of the game, it is easy to lose sight of who you are following and end up fighting for the other side. 🤓
You don't have to follow the main quest if you want. I just pick a direction and go that's the great thing about Skyrim you will eventually hit something or some quest.
@@NephilimGodMusic Even Todd said something about this during the launch. He said something like "We don't know what kind of characters the players will make and what will they do in the game. The players have absolute freedom with Skyrim."
I put this on the shelf when I started Conan, over 4000 hrs. Modded and unmodded. Need help or advice feel free to ask, no spoilers, will let you enjoy your first play through. Have fun and do the DLC, Dawn Guard and Dragon Born mit vampires. Lol
yeah i need a break from daily conan.,, and now doing the opposite of most and starting skyrim obsession in 2024.. thats for the no spoilers. i dont mind a hit or two, but it is nice going in so raw to a game! i literally know nothing, so i may hit you up for tips later on. with them kind of hrs, i know you got some goodens

@illibetgaming Dark Gods preserve us... Pre warning about Americans being offended by language? Don't worry, us Brits have no such worries lol enjoy the ride - I've just started again for my 72727 play through 😂
Skyrim does have the advantage of having several remasters and special editions done of it unlike most other games which is probably why it has dated so well although that doesn't necessarily mean that the original version was a bad one it was more the fact that Bethesda constantly spent Money on it in order to male it better so that they could sell the improved version again and again
A bit of advice for you. if you are playing survival, watch your carry weight because you don't want to be over encumbered in the middle of a fight. Unless it's an enclosed boss fight you can always just run away and come back when you're ready.
You are certainly a pack rat. If it ain`t nailed down it`s gone. After a couple of hundred hours of play you will get to know what is best to loot. 🙂 A dragon born comes at this turning of the age. I hope you enjoy the game.
I just watched another first timer playing Skyrim and she took NOTHING!!! Here you are taking EVERYTHING!!!! And she passed up the opportunity to pick some locks. I think you missed the 3rd cage (or maybe she missed the 3rd cage). Whatever. Entertaining video. It's a week old, I'm going to see if you've posted a follow up.

You should probably buy a home as soon as you are able. Being a loot Goblin requires it.
You can store a lot at the chest outside high Hrothgar, and put off getting a house for awhile.
