One of my friends was discovered in Hawaii. 16 years old, 5'10" waif of a girl (which she is naturally, she's got a wicked metabolism even HAS to eat regularly due to hypoglycemia) literally walking the streets [near the beach]. Her father made it very clear it was not happening. Dunno if it counts or not because she didn't take it, but it can happen

i think my self esteem just dropped by 50%
I would do anything to be tall enough to be a runway model. I can lose the weight, I can make myself beautiful, but I cant make myself taller. I have so much focus and determination. I am a complete perfectionist. I practice the walk every day. I practice 'the stare' every time I see a mirror. Unfortunately though, before I had time to grow to my set height, I developed and ED and probably wont make it past 5'2. I probably could have been 5'7. Such a shame. Being a model is my dream. Even though they say it isn't as glamorous as it looks, I know what its all about and I want all of it. The glamorous and not so glamorous parts.

Oh same :( I was 5'6" when i developed my ED one year ago (age 13, now I'm 14) and then I just stopped growing. I lost weight because I had anorexia and I reached 89 lbs (before like 3 weeks), now I am developing BED and I'm just gaining everything back like crazy and I'm over 100 lbs. 11 lbs weight gain in just 3 weeks. This fu**ing sucks.

It's because these shows are not real modeling contests and the participants do not have the requirements for professional modeling. It's just TV drama.

Ladies, don't let your self esteem drop because of this video. I've been reading these comments and let me just say, runway models have to be this thin and tall because they are essentially walking clothes hangers. And as beautiful as some people may find that, I'm perfectly okay with not looking like a 12 year old boy. There may be no hope for you to be a RUNWAY model, but it's a short career anyway- remember what they said about new faces. Once you get older than 30, you're done, unless you're lucky.

I have always had interest in modeling. It's just unfortunate that you have to have a very specific body type for it. But at 5'6, 120 pounds, Size D bust, and measurements of 36-26-36, there's no hope for that! lol
with a figure like that you can do any other type of modeling except for high fashion, snoop around and find something for you, there is definitely room for you somewhere.
You can do alot of things but I feel like because of your breast size some things aren't open to you. But u seem to be comfortable in(with) your body

Well I think thats a bit different viewing that fact that they are already known. If you're an amateur trying to break through well it becomes more difficult. Me personally I have nothing against them but I probably wouldn't hire them unless it was for playboy and stuff like that because they have more sex appeal
aaliyah Gomez Everyone had to start somewhere, they were both amateurs once trying to break through. I think breast size is the least of anyone's concerns when it comes to models. They're probably a plus on anyone with a more commercial look anyway. :)

Most of them were honestly average... I guess it depends on your weight.
Many models look alike, youll notice it in the runways, it might be because they have the same body type, or make up, and clothes they are asked to wear. But sometimes their faces looks very identical. The thing with incredibly good looking people is that their faces has no identity. And even when model agencies say they are looking for someone with unique beauty, all of the girls they pick has this type similar features to one another
The only one I recognised from the last few fashion weeks is Ysaunny Brito (Dominican Republic). No one else really "made it"

Do it anyway! Just go for the experience. You never know. You may not do high fashion modeling, but the modeling world has expanded. Go on girl!
