    Fantastic video. Love this brand. The hand tufting is beautiful and you did an excellent job at showing all features of the Avocado Mattress. I'm shopping for a natural green mattress and came across this video and I have fallen in love with Avocado! I think you have one of the most clean an informative videos that highlights the Avocado, and your video really helped me make my decision. I love the health benefits of avocado's in general and now I get to sleep on one :)

    I also always use a quality cotton mattress cover below sheets. It’s just so hard to decide, but you definitely make it easier even though I wish I could see these in person. However, I would like to know the total weight of these since this makes changing the sheets a major hassle. Thanks so much!

    My father just had one delivered to his house. It came compressed in a box. As an engineer I'm trying to figure out how they can compress a coil spring mattress without ruining it?

    Can you compare it to the spindle and the nest latex hybrid for me please? I have narrowed my choice to these three mattresses.

    Great video, thank you very much for making it. Question to you or anyone who has an avocado, with the addition of the pillow top adding an extra 2 inches of latex - do you have trouble properly getting a fitted sheet around the whole mattress?

    Quick question. Since you've reviewed both, for two big sleepers, would you suggest Avocado, Big Fig, or something else entirely.

    No mention of of the densities of Dunlop used, ie D65? This is important info for someone wanting to build a latex mattress, also ive heard Avocado has changed their firmness/densities. Perhaps an updated video is in order?

    another reason they use the tufting instead of glue because the glue is toxic (for all natural mattress). To properly show the support of the coil zones, shouldn't you lay on the mattress head to toe, not diagonally?

    How resistant is it when it comes to sinking in permanently over time? Cause I love the green features but having an indent in my mattress would be a nightmare, which is why i'm considering buy a new one. I sleep in all positions and sleeping on my stomach with an indent on the mattress gives me back pain .

    • @realmattressreviews8696
      @realmattressreviews8696  7 лет назад +1

      This will hold up extremely well. Its upper heavy duty and the button tufting helps too. In addition latex foam is pretty much the most durable foam you can buy. You shouldn't have issues with this mattress in that area. Here to help so ask away. Thanks!

    Hi Ross, trying to decide between the pillowtop and the standard avocado. I have a 10 inch fusion in my low back and have lower back pain in my lowest part of my vertebrae. I sleep on my stomach/side (in between) and side a lot. Which would you recommend? I am 5'7 140 lbs. Thank you!

    How does this mattress compare to the Big Fig in terms of firmness? I have a Big Fig now and it is a little to firm for me and is causing me shoulder pain as I am a side sleeper.

  • @alexg.9279

    Hello, I just tried out the Brentwood Oceano & I thought I would like it. But unfortunately I saw myself turning too much at night & having lower back pain I woke up feeling worse. I'm not knocking the Oceano, it just isn't for me. Honestly, its my first time sleeping on a soft plush mattress. I have slept on firmer mattresses before & didn't toss & turn much at night. I just thought I'd give this type of mattress a try I guess I was wrong thinking I would like it. So, my question is....will this Avocado model be firmer than the Oceano or will it also have that heavy sink feeling? Also, out of Ojai, Avocado & Saatva, which is firmer without the sink feeling and out of those 3 which would you recommend for stomach and side sleepers? Ty :D

    Two Questions:
    1st: Can you feel the buttons when sleeping on it?
    2nd: How does this compare to the Brentwood Home Cedar Mattress?

    • @realmattressreviews8696
      @realmattressreviews8696  6 лет назад

      I didn't really feel them. Its like a soft yarn. You could if you are very sensitive to the top of the mattress but I also use a mattress protector which covers them up some too.
      They are similar builds. The brentwood I thought was a little softer since one of the layers of latex is grooved, it has a little more give. Now when I tried the avocado it was white glove delivered, now its rolled so it might feel al little different now that its rolled. It can soften them up a hair after being rolled.

      @realmattressreviews8696  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Tee, thank you! SO I have not tried the Plushbed yet but its on the list. I can tell you the Avocado is constructed like a tank and built very well. I don't think you would be displeased unless you didn't like the firmness. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have specific questions regarding anything.

    I’ve got a tricky stairway to navigate on the way up to my bedroom. The only way to get a king up there is rolled up in a box. Any tips for how to get it back downstairs if I want to return it?

    • @GetGreenBeWell
      @GetGreenBeWell 5 лет назад

      Joshua Dufford I returned my Avocado Green mattress. It would not be very easy to compress it at all. Once out of the box, it’s a solid thick mattress with sturdy coils that doesn’t bend easily.

    Really like your reviews. We've been pouring over mattresses to replace a 2 1/2 year-old Brentwood Home mattress that utterly failed in the last year (foam broke down slowly and just became horrible to sleep on). We keep coming back to the Avocado but are torn between the pillow-top or non. I think we're leaning toward the non and then possibly just adding a topper to it down the road if we decide it's not quite cushy enough. Good plan?? Thanks!

    • @realmattressreviews8696
      @realmattressreviews8696  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I think its a great idea to go firm and use a topper, the mattress will hold up even better as a firm. Good plan.

    I'm a bit worried about how well this one will age given this all natural light-color covers?
    How would you describe that outside fabric feel between the Avocado w/ PT vs BH Cedar? Also as a 200lb side-sleeper, which other brand/model that is all-natural (pref. organic) should I also consider with hybrid Inner-coil foam construction.
    Nest, Staava, DreamCloud etc.

    • @realmattressreviews8696
      @realmattressreviews8696  6 лет назад

      Hi there, I wouldn't worry about the fabric much honestly. I recommend using a mattress protector and then you'll also use sheets. The fabrics on either are durable. Also both are very durable. The coil units and latex is one of the most durable foams. Those two and Dreamcloud are also hand tufted which is a higher end feature that helps with longevity and prevents bunching or shifting of layers. Nest and Saatva are also quality brands.

    Hi! I'm in search for a new mattress and have NO idea what to get. My boyfriend has sleep apnea and back/ shoulder pain. He's quite muscular and is currently recovering from (pancreatic) surgery. He wakes up exhausted with muscle aches, most likely caused by the sleep apnea. Our current mattress is TOO firm (Bob's Posture Pedic). To top things off, I'm also pregnant so I will need a bit of comfort for myself however I am able to adjust to most mattresses. I looked into Avocado Mattress and the Sleep Number. Preferably I would like to pay under 1,500$ USD but it doesn't seem like it will happen if I'm looking for the best for the boyfriend. What do you think?

    • @mikeandmelysa
      @mikeandmelysa 6 лет назад

      I hate the ILE sleep number bed. It's an air mattress! Returning it and planning on getting an Avocado with topper. I'm a married 42 year old female, 5'4" and 172 lbs, with sleep apnea, fibromyalgia, and a ruptured neck disc. My husband is athletic, 6'"1 and 180 lbs. He's fine with the sleep number but you know what they say, happy wife, happy life. haha. Good luck on your mattress decision.

    • @realmattressreviews8696
      @realmattressreviews8696  7 лет назад +2

      Ray Ramirez hi ray, so I have seen the saatva beds and carry beds almost identical in my store. But unfortunately I have not slept on one yet. Overall I would put my money in Avocado lasting longer with more latex, button tufting etc. There aerated latex sleeps cool as well and it's an all natural mattress.

    • @idliketosay
      @idliketosay 6 лет назад

      elficefire order you a sturdy/firm pocketed coil latex mattress from Amazon (I ordered the Sunrising Bed). Order a 3 inch all natural latex mattress topper from Amazon (I ordered the one from Sleep on Latex). Throw the latex mattress topper on top of your pocketed coil mattress, add your bed sheets. You’re good to go!!! You just made yourself a $2000-$3000 mattress for less then $1000 (King size). You’ll love it. Thank me later.
      *add another layer of latex if you need more fluff. Only will cost you another $100-$200. Still better than $3000
      *free returns on Amazon.
      Good luck!

    this one looks great, do you know how many coils it has ? and does a 3 zone coil mean that it has more give in head and feet area and less from shoulder to hip area?

    • @realmattressreviews8696
      @realmattressreviews8696  7 лет назад +1

      Exactly on the zones, you'll have increased support where most of the body weight is. The number of coils in each mattress is as follows: Twin, 681 | Twin XL, 692 | Full, 947 | Full XL 960 | Queen, 1068 | King, 1362 | Cal. King, 1303 Thanks!!!!

      Mattress Insiders that's a good amount of coils, great review thanks

    • @realmattressreviews8696
      @realmattressreviews8696  7 лет назад +2

      It is! Usually anything over 800 is pretty good. So over 1000 and not using a micro coils is really good. Some brands have a micro coil unit as well and then they can say the have 2-3000 coils but the micro coils are not the same as a support coil so I don't really like that especially when they are not breaking it down and saying most of them are micro coils. Thanks for watching Jon

  • @Evmeister88
    @Evmeister88 7 лет назад

    Ross, Purple Mattress didn't work out for me and I'm considering Wink Bed and Avocado. I'm pretty torn between and am sure if they Avocado is better quality to justify the price. Wink uses Micro Coils and supports coils whereas Avocado uses longer support coils. Which one will hold their tension better over time? I'm 260 and mostly concerned about dips and losing straight alignment while sleeping.

      Hi Sally, I recommend always using a mattress protector. Almost any company will not warranty the mattress with stains of any kind, sweat, water, pee etc. That's why most stores try to sell you a protector too. It'll help keep the mattress fresh and protect your warranty.

      Sorry for the delay I was out of the office for the last week. It will sort of depend on if you prefer an all foam feel or not. With latex its not that drastic of a different feel though since latex is fairly bouncy to begin with. I tend to like the hybrid latex beds better than all foam just because most of the all foam solid latex beds are only 10" thick. They don't bottom out its just that my headboard looks better with a thicker mattress.

      Hi there Sai - I believe as per our discussion everything has been clarified here :) We noticed there was a 1% change on our legal tag which you brought to our attention - now 82% latex 15% wool - given a small adjustment that was made to our latex density, based on customer feedback to date. We did not realize at first that the % was adjusted as a result, and it took us a day or so to research and resolve this. We are updating the tags posted on our website accordingly to reflect the adjustment. We appreciate you pointing this out to us and thank you again for your business. We hope you love the mattress for many years to come, and of course if you have any followup questions please feel free to reach out any time!
