I remember when I first discovered this show. I was THRILLED and just could not wait for the next episode. Then I discovered House Doctor, What Not TO Wear, the garden show, and others. Glorious English television made me SO happy. Then they took it all away :(
This was my favorite show, I would watch the reruns over & over. After they went off the air and they changed BBC America format I gave up my cable subscription. I love BBC programs!!!
Me Too!! These designers actually Care what the homeowners Want!! The American ones are just the opposite. (It Would help if they Were Real designers)!! Definitely on the side of the Brits on this show for Sure!✌️
I noticed that these were recorded off of the 'BBC America' network back when they actually played good British shows...I wish back then I would've recorded them myself. It was something I thought about doing, but never got around to, and I lived to regret it, as I have missed the show a lot. I wish I could find a place to download them off of online, but so far I haven't found anywhere. I would buy them if they were available on DVD, or BluRay, but for some reason the BBC never bothered to release these on disc.
i think it is hard to get American corporations to pay for intellectual property from other locales without prior evidence it will yield returns? I too have a bunch of stuff I would like to pay to stream or own.
I really miss watching this here in the U.S....It used to run (in the early 2000's) on the BBC AMERICA Digital Cable TV Channel, along with many other great TV shows that were actually British, BUT then for some stupid reason, the BBC America Channel reinvented itself as a channel that wasn't going to play any actual British shows that were made for, and shown on British Television - other than the new 'Doctor Who', and 'Top Gear'. If you don't like 'Doctor Who', or 'Top Gear' - you're sh*t outta luck. (I'm a fan of the original older Doctor Who series only). Everything else was cut from the network. Which really saddened me, as there were many great shows like 'Changing Rooms' that I enjoyed tremendously, but haven't seen now for over 10 years, because of the BBC America channel format change. Instead BBC America filled their new schedule with many American shows, and movies - which makes absolutely no sense to me. I thought the whole point of the BBC America channel was to give viewers in the U.S. the opportunity to view actual shows from England - NOT watch more American shows!!! It was once a great channel...now it sucks. WHY do people always have to fix things that aren't broken? BBC America wasn't broken!!!
From the start I’m looking at the first room thinking, wow that looks nice. Can only imagine they are gonna make it look horrible and with that 2001 touch haha
Laurence Llewelyn Bowen was so posh. I could imagine him describing beige as a crisis and using phrases like ‘rococo revival’ and ‘post modernistic tech noir!’
Love him or hate him it's not hard to see why Lawrence made it big and a few of the other designers that pop up over the years but that guy with the purple room haha
If I were to have an alternate universe husband..Gotta say it would be Lawrence.I know that he'd be just as high maintenance as my own darling spouse, But he's also about as gorgeous ,smart, sweet and funny as my bae is!
@Lady Jupiter why are you so nasty to people?? Who do you think you are??? Key board warrior wuss with such a low esteem that you take it out on people who will never know who you are? By George I think I've got it!! You speak as though everyone is below you making YOU seem lower than a snake's belly.......................smh

Drilling the table 😅
Oh god. They really don't care, do they?
I’m sure the producers deliberately used to do what they didn’t want just to get a reaction.
BBC, are you still producing this program?
