Hey john, I've never commented before on things but I truly enjoy and learn a lot from your site. I always look for and look forward to your next video. And oddly just the other day I was curious about what your home garden looked like and funny enough I get to see it. Blessings to you thanks for making the planet beautiful.
Again your design sense really speaks to me - the bright white pot and the dark burgundy leaves and medium pink flowers - it’s akin to feeling so cute in a dark sweater and white jeans!
Just started watching your vlogs John and have been flat out watching, as far as I’m concerned you have given me the most information of all the professional gardeners as seen on national garden tv programs and your crac with how you deal with plants is hilarious 😂 brilliant! 👍
Teddy weeing on the grass 🤣 only a gardener would appreciate it. Iv just got the Acer palmatum “Blood Good” for my garden so I’m super happy you ended on that with a few tips. I’m going to get a huge Acer “Orange Dream” this weekend 👍 thanks for the tour
Really enjoyed this! I worked at a nursery for years and our Japenese Maple source said the deer taught him how to prune them because after they got to his Japenese Maples one year and ate them back they were the best they had ever been that year. 😂
Love the acer, beautiful - a must have plant that I’ve just added to my list, especially as you can cut it hard without doing harm...those are the types of plants we all need 👍🙏🏼 thank you for the tour x
I love your garden tours. I live in Kentucky, USA. We can't grow fuchsia here except as annual. I love to see them so big. It was delightful to see your home garden.
Thank you for this latest excellent video. I figured out why I enjoy them so much: you do stuff the whole time, not just standing there talking. I enjoy all the factoids you throw in plus the funny asides. Your videos are the only ones I can watch without falling asleep. Please make another video soon.
🙋hi from Scotland hi john i love the plants you have shown us from your own garden they are just lovely thank you for sharing this stay safe take care Anne Scott from Scotland 🌲🌲🌳🍁🍁
Your garden is lovely as always John...admiring your fuschia plants so much! And the bloodgood maple! I have one planted in fullsun and it does not look like yours. Hmm....something to think about. :-)
John Lord, when are you going to write some garden books. I have try to find some that you might of writen but only found an article which i loved by the way. On Prairie gardening. You never fail to make me laugh and this time it was when you said you saw a Peit Outdolf either at Kew or Surrey or that rough area. and you wss not impressed. I love that one in his book that in Ireland. Keep going your the best.x
Hiya, just watching this one again and again as I am looking for plants for my garden can you please tell me what the plant is with the large leaf's looks like big hands (time 7:50sec) centre of the screen to the right of the spotted laurel and to the left of the lantern tree thanks Del, from France
I got an inexpensive small Acer palmatum (Bloodgood) put it by my small pond and like you suggested I will top it try to get the other branches to arch over the pond instead of buying a much more expensive weeping variety. Will look great with my ferns and Japanese weeping all gold forest grass
Thanks for the tour and the advice on Japanese maples. You must have a clumping variety of bamboo that doesn’t tend to run-or else a few panda bears to keep them in check.
What sort of birds do you get frequenting your garden? I love combining bird watching and gardening (this year I am leaving all of my basil plants that have gone to seed to see if I can see any birds feeding on them)
Lots of small birds. There’s always a robin hanging around and the bird song in the background is generally the blackbird. We have crows, rooks, magpies jackdaws and wood pigeons as well.
@@johnlordssecretgarden Fantastic! Maybe a possible future video on winter bird activity in the garden and which plants are winter bird favorites. :) Thanks again for all of the videos as I always find so much inspiration and joy in them!
Thank you John! I am the one who afraid of Japanese Maples lol I have five and want to transplant them all to a new location, they are maybe five six years old in good shape, when is the best time to do it? I am zone 6 in the Fall and Zone 5 in the Spring due to Grate Lakes influence here in Southern Ontario.
Your garden looks amazing defferent vibrant colour their beautiful i love flower too i got pushia begonia roses but my roses no good every leaves got a black spot i dont know why?
I have a Japanese maple black lace and it's growing lovely in my clay soil, I was wondering of I should cut it back ever if it starts to get a bit bushy.
Hi John. I know you didn't show them here but if you surround japanese forest grasses with mulch before they start growing in spring, will it affect the new growth pushing through the mulch? I put mulch around them about 2 weeks ago.
I think he said tuberous begonias. A lot of begonias can be grown from tubers in the spring like dahlias or gladioli. If you protect the tuber from frost and wet the plant regrows in the following spring.

Can I ask how many did it take to grow to that height? Thanks

Really enjoying your videos, John. Could you please tell me what the music is at the start?
What do have in the tub with the white Bacopa, it looks like a Gaura? Lovely combination.
yes John i could not make out what plant was in that pot with the Bacopa ?? thank you for showing us your lovely garden, Mairead Harkin

Ha ha, I just watched this video to find out how to pronounce, Chusquea culeou....see I'm not the only one struggling with that one!
Hi John. I know you didn't show them here but if you surround japanese forest grasses with mulch before they start growing in spring, will it affect the new growth pushing through the mulch? I put mulch around them about 2 weeks ago.
So this is new info for me ... Begonias will over winter in a shed? All begonias or just certain types? Which types? Dragon Wing Begonias?

Just beautiful. Thanks for the tip re Ozmocote for the begonias
What zone would you say you are?
Is it possible to grow Japanese Maple at a temperature of 20 - 30 degree Celsius.....
We are still swimming in Corfu, Greece bt in the morning it is freaking cold (6 C).
