Thanks! I feel like I am better able to capture the emotion of the memory with this format. There are a lot of good quotes out there but C.S. Lewis has a great one: "Don’t use adjectives which merely tell us how you want us to feel about the thing you are describing. I mean, instead of telling us a thing was “terrible,” describe it so that we’ll be terrified. Don’t say it was “delightful”; make us say “delightful” when we’ve read the description. You see, all those words (horrifying, wonderful, hideous, exquisite) are only like saying to your readers 'Please will you do my job for me.'"
@@teatimewithja I never heard that quote from Lewis before, but it's exquisite, delightful, and so on advice for any art form. Mark Twain said something like: If you are tempted to write the adjective "very", use "damn" instead, and your editors will take them all out and make it easy for you. Very rough paraphrase.
It was a LONG day, but since the sun did not set until maybe 1 am, we had plenty of light to get home. Such a beautiful area. When were you in the area?
Beautiful footage and music. Looks like a lot of fun.
It was a great hike and a wonderful day. You have been in Seward, right? What hiking did you do in the area?
@@teatimewithja All I remember by name was around exit glacier
@@peter2160 I never made it there - maybe next time. I have heard it is amazing.
I love the wordless format
