    Do you soak your shirts in Soda Ash first? If yes, what are the amounts you use per shirt

    • @Chandye
      @Chandye  4 года назад +2

      Hello! We prefer putting the soda ash directly in the bottles. We put in the same amount of soda as dye, in a 1:1 ratio. Like you pointed out, you can also soak the shirt in soda ash before dyeing. For this we use 1/2 cup of soda in a bucket containing a gallon of water. Soda is very forgiving and you can play with the quantities, it won't hurt if you use too much soda.

      Hello! You can check out this list of dye suppliers. At the bottom of the page we have listed a supplier located in South Africa and they seem very friendly. We suggest trying them out first and if that doesn't do the trick you can try the big North American suppliers which sell internationally. I hope this helps!

    • @Chandye

      Yes, we like to use a very small amount of sodium alginate at any time, it helps with the dye placement. We only use a small amount unless we want to do something very precise, in which case we increase the amount of alginate.
