The Ohrid agreement was never signed. Vučić said the agreement was only acceptable up to the red lines Serbia has set out. I think it's important to mention that.
All right, it's time for some FUN FACTS: 1. The Ohrid agreement was just a blueprint for the next (did not yet materialize) legally binding agreement. So, just a blueprint. 2. Serbia did agree to the Ohrid agreement but stated that there are points that are unacceptable for Serbia. 3. Per the constitution of the Republic of Serbia, 'Kosovo and Metohija' is a part of Serbia and the territory of Serbia. We just didn't officially declare the occupation (yet). 4. The STANDING UN Security Council resolution 1244 states that for the UN and for the UN SC 'Kosovo and Metohija' is still a part of the Republic of Serbia. This resolution is standing, it is valid, it was voted for by the USA, UK, France, China, and Russia. That is why Kurti at the UN SC meeting had only his name on the sign, while Vucic had Serbia on the sign. FOR THE UN IT IS SERBIA! 5. For the UN and for the UN SC (Security Council, maybe you heard of it) the OWNERSHIP of all natural resources on the territory of 'Kosovo and Metohija' belongs to the Republic of Serbia. Serbia is the owner of the territory and the owner of all natural resources. Always follow the money. Lybia, Iraq, Syria (oil). Kosovo (sh*t load of coal, gold, nickel, zinc...). 6. The formation of the 'Association of Serbian Majority Municipalities' was SIGNED by all actors and the GUARANTOR of the agreement is the EU (European Union). The Serbs, all over the world, are still waiting for that agreement to be realized since it was signed and guaranteed all the way back in 2013. 7. NATO countries, not all, INDIVIDUALLY voted (in their respective parliaments) for the recognition of this territory as an independent Republic. THAT IS NOT HOW YOU CREATE A COUNTRY. Never in history and it will not fly today. TLDR: NATO was hoping to get a sh*tload of resources for free but is now hesitant because the ownership rights are Serbian and they can be sued for stealing billions of dollars worth of resources. I will just mention the world's fifth largest deposits of lignite - light coal that can produce decades worth of electricity for a good portion of Europe. Read trillions in profit potential. They are, of course, stealing it day and night, three shifts, regular worker's protests, but there is so much of it, they can't get it all out under 30 years of robbery. I won't dispute most of your points, as I am not informed on the matter. I am confused by 7., though. How is a country created if not through international recognition of an already de-facto autonomous organization?
The Kosovo war would have never happened if it wasn't for Milosevic's brutal supression of Kosovar Albanians. Ukraine never banned Russian-speaking people from working in local governments or using their language in the education system. Milosevic's government did, and then brutally repressed any dissent that came out of Kosovo. The Uçk was also not directly sponsored by foreign powers until NATO directly entered the conflict after multiple war crimes. Hopefully this conflict can be left in the past like many other conflicts and some sort of deal can be made that will first and foremost benefit the lives of the peoples' of both countries.

Serbia... a difficult topic. And it wouldn't have to be, only if the so-called international community would be fair to it. The EU should have accepted Serbia into its membership a long time ago. If this had been done after the fall of Slobodan Milošević's regime, things in the Balkans would look very different today. Everything is very different now. I am not in the slightest a supporter of the current government in Serbia, but the EU and USA do not leave Serbia the slightest possibility to accept anything that is being offered to it today. Kosovo met the conditions for admission to the Council of Europe because it registered the property of the monastery that has been there for 800 years? That supposed to be some argument? Come on, let's be serious.
@72badry Thank you for your answer. There are some similarities with post WWII Europe, but there are some big differences also. The fall of Milošević was the consequence of long and hard struggle of Serbian people. After that, we all had great hope that we will soon be joined in EU. If it had happened in 2000, or if at least an accelerated accession process had been opened, there would not have been a violent stop to the process of building institutions, a fully democratic system and everything else that forms the foundations of the EU. The assassination of our prime minister would not have happened, after which parts of the old forces came to power. The country went backwards, and the province of Kosovo unilaterally declared secession and independence, contrary to all norms of international and domestic law. Today, the situation is as it is, difficult and complicated, because in the past it was neglected to take clear positions in accordance with the practice in international relations. I am aware of the problems that exist in the EU when it comes to Hungary, Slovakia, and to some extent Poland. But, when it comes to Serbia, I have to introduce you to some facts that may surprise you. Nationalism in Serbia is dominant to a much lesser extent than in many, perhaps even all, EU member states. It is most present in the narrative of the ruling party and their partners, who are even personally people from Milosevic's regime, who are in power only thanks to huge manipulations in the media and during elections. Even with those manipulations, they enjoy the support of 25-30% of the population! I don't know if you know, but Serbia is still the most multi-ethnic country in the region. About 25 different national communities live in Serbia, among which Serbs make up 80% and the rest 20% (if we don't count Kosovo). If we include Kosovo, that ratio is 66%:33%. In Slovenia, which you mention, that ratio is 91%:9%, and in Croatia it is even worse: 97% of the majority people against 3% of all minorities! Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, Serbia is exposed to great media manipulations and propaganda, so in Europe, and in a large part of the world, there is an unrealistic image of it. And what I can understand even less is why many governments of EU countries and others support the man who usurped the position of the President of the Republic, who is a former minister in Milosevic's government and who governs by violating the laws and the Constitution on a daily basis, in every appearance. I apologize for being so detailed, but this is really a very painful topic for me, and it was important for me to try to give you a better picture of the situation in Serbia. I greet you and wish you all the best.

Why did a good part of European countries support Kosovo instead of Serbia? I would say that the best way to maintain peace would be to respect the status quo of each country's borders. Jok😂
Kosova is Albania accept the reality
denial+cope= Discorded viewe of reality
@@turkish3112and half of Turkey is Kurdistan... her biji Kurdistan 🇷🇸
All right, it's time for some FUN FACTS:
NATO used a false flag, a CIA-initiated event, to do what Russia is today doing in Ukraine. Bomb a country. A WAR CRIME!
Russia tried to bend over backwards to avoid the SMO. Remember the Maidan coup in 2014 brought to you by the CIA? I wonder why Crimea and Donbass people would be upset at this coup - after all state department says it is no big deal, in fact, it is wonderful because now Ukraine could accelerate its path toward freedom and democracy in the EU and NATO. And Elensky says if you like Russia than move to Russia. All right, I will take that advice and I will take my land with me. What's that? You want me to leave my land to Ukraine? Why? Am I your slave? Did I not pay or inherit that land from my ancestors? And also the beautiful part is the Russian naval base in Sevastopol which would find itself in NATO should Ukraine have joined NATO. Talk about the hypocrisy and insanity of the situation. And also don't forget biolabs and CIA bases in Ukraine for years. Yeah, Russia is going to just sit there and watch this shitshow to unfold in its backyard. And yes NATO would have eventually attacked Russia since Russia is just a gas station pretending to be a country and needs some democracy USA style.

The cognitive dissonance of people in the comments not accepting Serbia's sovereignty over Kosovo while supporting at all costs Ukraine's sovereignty over Crimea and the Donbas is just hilarious to see. Intersting concept that of a country invading its own territory mate.
Serbia... a difficult topic.
I greet you and wish you all the best.

the EU should rather pick if they respect terretorial integrety of countries or not. Kosovo okay but Crimea not? Double standard.
Kosovo is a people declaring its independence. Like every other state in ex Yougoslavia it has a right to independence. Crimea was invaded by Russia and incorporated in its land.
Russia recognises dombas but not Kosovo. Also double standards
@@Joel86543 Its russias own interest there so they are biased. People need to stop pretending there is a true and right solution that applies equally for every country. But they don’t so politicians need to come up with justifications and excuses.
The EU in theory tho should be able to view both conflicts from a neutral perspective. Yet they don’t.
@@mnm1273 the majority in crimea is Russian. there is not even a need to fraud a referendum. They want to be Russian. Kosovo is NOT a former state of Yugoslavia unlike for example Montenegro. It is an entity within Serbia like Vojvodina, the State of Texas in the US or Bavaria in Germany.

On Kosovo (Albanian part) proclaim independence, without voting-is Illegal

Yugoslavia's illegally annexed region where the serbs almost did a genocide like they did in Bosnia, if it wasn't for NATO.

unless someone knows a Association of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo we've been searching for for about 11 years that's it folks the Ohrid agreement only stands when both sides do it and since no side is upholding their part ...
its done.
Its actually very easy to understand.
We just want INTERNATIONAL WRITTEN LAW to be respected equaly for everyone. Both Ukraine and Serbia. Nothing more, nothing less. If Crimea is Ukraine by international law so is Kosovo part of Serbia by the SAME LAW and UN BINDING resolution 1244.
Is this really hard to understand?
Or if you wanna repack the international law thal all fair, we are 100% for it but lets repack it for EVERYONE. For catalonia, baskia, tyrol, donbas, crimea, and every single separatist entity in Europe.
Why did a good part of European countries support Kosovo instead of Serbia?
I would say that the best way to maintain peace would be to respect the status quo of each country's borders. So in this case it would make sense for Kosovo to belong to Serbia, perhaps giving them more autonomy or even federalize.
@@tiagotimoteo4004 the thing is that was part of the kumanovo agreement which ended the war and the UN resolution 1244 by which serbias sovereinty would be respected and kosovo would get autonomy ofc which would be discussed with the parties involved, but they just up and broke the agreement and only use the resolution 1244 which allows them to be present in kosovo with troops. the rest of the resolution they probably threw in the toilet.
The two situations (Kosovo and Crimea) are not the same. Crimea did not declare independence from Ukraine, it was occupied by unmarked Russian soldiers, and it (READ: Russia) held a BS referendum that didn't include the possibility of Crimea staying part of Ukraine, and does not deserve to be validated by the international community.
@@jc3drums916 And Kosovo was occupied by NATO soldiers from 1999 and just left out Serbia, there is no differance. It's the same thing with different packages

Eu double standard really confusing everyone. EU acting towards Serba the way Russia acting towars Ukraine before invasion. Not to mention Europe making a precedent to recognize unilateral and illegal independence of Kosovo, what give Russians leverage to what they want.
There was an agreement over all this last year, and Serbia signed it. Given the timing and their connection to Russia, this is clearly an excuse.
Maybe, and if you’re European, you’ll be shocked by this, maybe the EU doesn’t see Vucic & the Serbs as good faith actors? Probably because they definitely are not good faith actors.
Kosovo is Serbia always was.
Russia is defending their own people in Ukraine . Serbia should do same defending their own people in Kosovo.
Yet the people in Kosovo don’t want to be under Serbia
