my guess is the NBA account was just somebodys channel that was turned into an official account
This was 13 years ago, they started uploading NBA stuff 15 years ago.
Maybe it was an old social media manager that wanted to make that kids day
overtime commented on my friends post years ago, it happens often with official accounts before they became branded
Could be several things. Could be they paid someone else for their account way back when, could be the PR guy was drunk one night 13 years ago, could be it's an impostor that took control of their account back then and made a dumb comment. I guess what I'm saying is that, if we judge everything from the past internet by todays rules and standards, we will make mistakes and punish people unjustly. That said, I cannot imagine why the NBA of all things would be here lol.
NBA may have paid some kid for their account for the @NBA tag on the channel
I saw a similar thing happen with the Augusta National RUclips channel. I think it's either because the original channel was someone else's, or whoever ran the channel at the time just used that channel as their private channel as well

That comment is 13 years old. The good old days before TikTok and Twitter dominated what the news talks about. Back then social media in general was still new and most people didn't have internet or smartphones.
I don't know how old you are, but EVERYONE had so called "smartphones" 13 years ago.... granted it was the early days of iPhone and others, but people were already hooked on iPhones and apps and everything else that comes with that.... and Twitter and TikTok do NOT "dominate" the news LMAO.... that may be where YOU get all your "news", but those of us with functioning braincells don't get our "news" from ANY social media site lol, they are ALL just crap....
Sometimes official business pages comment on very obscure pages randomly. I have a friend that works for a company she does their social media. It’s a good way to engage. Comment on videos you may like that aren’t big at all and people may never see and keep it PG.
The NBA in NO WAY needs to do that sort of thing lol. You can tell by the way the sentence structure is put together that it is definitely NOT someone with access to legitimate NBA social media credentials. You can see that the video was uploaded over 13 years ago, so this probably has to do with certain old account issues, like branded accounts versus regular accounts, things like that.... the real NBA is clearly not involved here lol....

13 years ago, these things were not seen as an 'issue' That would be why. It's like watching old "Pathé News" film reels and being offended at how they spoke in the early XXth century.
You can tell by the way the sentence structure is put together that it is definitely NOT someone with access to legitimate NBA social media credentials. This is simply a regular person commenting on the video, and if you actually cared about how that's possible, you'd go look into it, but instead you think you know everything lol.... It's not my job to educate the sheep, go find out for yourself how this was possible, it's not exactly rocket science.... Oh and by the way, I don't know how old you are, but 13 years ago isn't actually that long ago, and the world pretty much operated the exact same way....
