As a younger man I travelled to UK/Old Trafford to watch Man U in their pomp - that was my abiding memory, the sight of Beckham & Giggs CONSTANTLY running up & down and down & up the wings incessantly, never resting [ie before Fergie was launching boots]. Couldn’t believe the mileage they were putting up - it was middle distance Olympian grade stuff - realised also how lean greyhounds they were ‘in the flesh’ feather than via TV cameras. I thought top runners just as much as top ballers!
You have just sent us on a nostalgic look back at the same time period at United. Remember watching the so called 'pre-madonna' David Beckham track back numerous times and make insane tackles (like a RB than a winger) throughout this one game. It was truly remarkable. Nowadays if we get any of our forwards come back and make a half hearted tackle the crowd goes wild at OT. Not sure what went wrong but really do wish we get things sorted.
