Thanks John, Dave was using a fin-nor offshore spin reel. Not sure if it was an 8500 or 9500.

Haha how long is a piece of string or how fat is your wallet? A good mate uses a stella and 37kg jig stick and spent 1200$ , beats me hands down but still gets sharked like no tomorrow when their on. I do like my new Fin Nor but like I Said you will stuff the handle pins pretty quickly if you are cranking like me. So if you do get one pair it up with the old gold handle and its a brilliant reel for the $$. Honestly im not a tackle nut, I just use what works for a decent price. That rod I was using is actually on an overhead rod, but it is a great short stroking combo for what I do Shannon probably knows more than me on this part. I still use old penns and TLD 25 because they are bomb or Dave proof as I like to call them. Quick rinse fresh water, back off the drags, quick spray INOX and it keeps them well. Best wishes
