Hello, the mirror lockup issue is actually due to the battery being dead. The shutter on the FE2 is electronic, meaning that you need power for it to work. 357 watch battery is what it takes. I would suggest the foam as the other commenter mentioned. It’s a $15 foam kit on Amazon and 10 mins of work. This is an excellent camera paired with Nikkor glass. Have fun!

I wish I would have bought this camera 3 years ago :( the price lately has gone out of control.
@jerrysoh619 Keep searching, check camera shops. I saw a similar Nikon for less than $200 last week.
The mirror locks because
the mirrorfoam is gone.
Probably the doorsealant
as well....
