Great explanation. Thank you!!! I've been trying my best to get my Bethlehem GL100 running true. I think the problem with the GL100 lathes is they don't have adjustable chucks. You could align the headstock and tail stock but if the holding fingers "chucks" are off you have to use shims to get things turning on center... At least that's what I think is going on🤷
