This video sucks, Penix is old and injury prone. No wonder his draft stock has fallen. I’d take JJ McCarthy over Penix any day. He’s younger, has no injury history, and has plenty of athleticism on top of a good arm.
@@yourewrongfr I think he's a tad underrated off-structure. If you watch some of his Indiana film, he was solid off-script but that was when he was more willing to sacrifice his body.
@@ifheavenwashuman not really unless you’re talking about against bad defenses which of course any nfl caliber qb should be able to dominate against we are also talking about 3 years ago since he’s been at washington unless it’s a clean pocket with a wide open receiver he has trouble but i could see him being a cj stroud type with amazing timing and presnap recognition but he’s not nearly as good at those traits as cj is at a much older age
@@yourewrongfr Watch his film vs. Ohio St. He's excellent at sliding to buy time within a pocket, and rolling towards his strong side. As a rhythm and timing passer, w/ the accuracy to attack spots of a defense & the arm power to push throws down the field up the sideline, I think he can hover around the middle of the second tier QBs like Dak/Cousins, who I rank below Herbert/Lawrence.
@@yourewrongfr So would Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Philp Rivers etc all of a sudden not be able to play in todays game? See what has happened is the pendulum has swung to far in one direction. It isn't that you HAVE to be mobile (back in the day everyone would laugh at people saying this)... the deal is there is MORE than one way to play QB. Being mobile isn't the ONLY way to play QB. With that being said he has more movement skills than let on. He simply doesn't do it. What he gives a team is unique throws that can change field position and give you chunk plays. That is HOW you have good offenses. Not be a bunch of 15 play drives.. you need a player with the ability to flip the field to get a mix of 4 or 5 play drives.
I’m just concerned about his running ability and his decision making. Otherwise, I am a MPJ fan. Even as an Oregon Ducks fan, I love watching him spin the ball. It’s nuts that he’s able to do that

Even him extending plays, he rarely leaves the pocket. If he did that, he could spread the defense a bit more and get his guys more open
I would rather have a cheap car I can upgrade over time and juice up than a more expensive car that breaks down every time I drive it. McCarthy because of what he could be if developed right, penix missed serious time cuz he doesn’t have any body.

Umm Caleb will be 23 during the season, I believe the same with Maye, idk how old you think Daniels is but he’s literally the same age as dude. Also, Williams can’t play in Structure. Daniels isn’t this elite talent at reading the field but truthfully none of these guys are like idk why you think that any player getting drafted is some how not supposed get NFL coaching

Moral of the story is that injuries play a huge role in Football, QBs aren’t exempt, Brees is an example and heck even Brady

it’s more about him not being able to play out of structure and playing college football in a different decade than most draftable qbs
