If you know me, then you know I am not a huge fan of baking. Which is why I have a special guest here with me today…my mom! Today we are making 5 different Asian buns with 1 milk bread recipe.
Growing up, my mom used to make Asian buns for us with this milk bread recipe, and it is honestly the best milk bread you will ever have. The bread is bouncy, chewy, soft, and light all at the same time. Even better? We also made Hot Dog Buns, Tuna and Corn Cheese Bread, Green Onion Braids, and Chocolate Milk Bread using the same dough recipe; all of this is PERFECT for back-to-school season.

Can u show how you store your bread for the whole week. Because my bread always mold after 3days i put outside the fridge.
I literally grew up on all of these delicious asian bakery staples along with coconut buns and many more delicious treats. My mom would always buy my siblings & myself these every weekend when we ventured to our local China town 💕
This is my favorite video of yours - the backstory, cinematography, lighting, and of course recipes! I am SO excited to try these out. Would totally love more variations to use this master dough on! Omg just when I thought I couldn't possibly love your videos any more than I already do!!! Thank you for such helpful and easy to follow instructions. I've watched countless other bread videos but the process always seems sooo intimidating and overly complicated 😮 I easily spend $60 each time I go to the Asian bakery, so this is going to be a game changer for me! Also the thought of little Tiffy with home-made bread in one hand and soy milk in the other so so cuuute 😇! TIFFY! 💞 Thank you!! My whole life I’ve been an excellent cook, but NEVER a baker. I can easily spend a full day in the kitchen cooking food, but for some reason even 10 minutes of baking makes me irritable? I don’t know why 😅 I try to learn more but it always seems so complicated and like a hassle… BUT For some reason this video makes baking feel accessible. Simple and easy and fun, the way cooking usually is for me. I think I’m actually going to try making these recipes!!
Little mushy moment- I’ve followed your accounts for a few years now but due to life circumstances (zero kitchen access) I haven’t been able to cook any of your recipes. But I lived my cooking passion vicariously through you, and have been saving your videos, making plans to one day cook them! Sooo, I finally escaped an abusive living situation and I’m out on my own by myself for the first time. I have a lot of doubts and anxieties about the future but I cherish my safety and freedom. I’ve been cooking your recipes a lot lately and it honestly feels like a dream come true. It’s almost surreal to cook freely and happily with music playing… but then when I taste your food recipes I’m grounded and reminded that it’s reality!! I don’t have much, but I have freedom and safety and good food and love, which is enough!!
Thank you for unknowingly being an inspiration to me for such a long time. You’ve mentioned in some videos that you’ve been feeling stress and anxiety- and I know this comment can’t fix it all, but I hope it can bring at least one smile to your face the way you’ve brought so many to mine.

Did you proof the dough in the fridge overnight?
@@kirstytran7507 yes I did! I thought I ruined it at first cause my breads usually come out smelling over proofed, but this time it was perfect! It's even more delicious toasted 🤤
@user-fg8jq5bw2d how long did you proof overnight? Does it need another proofing the next day after take out of the fridge? How long is that proof?
@@kirstytran7507 I did about a 6-7 hour proof only because I wanted to cook it first thing, turns out it was just the perfect amount cause another hour longer, in my case, would've been over proofed and yeasty. Might be different for you.
After the proofing I just followed the rest of the video, which was shaping and letting it rest (just on the counter top this time) and then bake.

although I'm not Taiwanese these foods were my childhood because I would go to this place called breadtop like most of the week and I would always have the hot dog one.
I use Tang Zhong for all my breads. Especially heavier breads like my Killer Bread with lots of seeds and part whole-wheat benefits from increased fluffyness and stays soft longer

Hi Tiffy! Would you be able to clarify if the master dough needs water in addition to the milk? In the blog recipe, there is water but the RUclips video does not show adding of water. I just wanted to double check since I am planning to make this soon!!! Looks so amazingly delicious!
