Excellent work. Great to see that Moebius is finally doing something with the TOS. Wish that they would get the Buck Rogers license, too. Could've imagined this model used in a continuation.
Fantastic Job Boyd! You always do great work. The engines turned out so cool. Really nice weathering job. Just enough to give it that worn look. I like the launch tubes lit up. Even though the original TV series one did not show them all lit I would think that is how they would have looked. Awesome!
When I bought my model in 1978, ( I still have it) it came with both "Galactica" and " Pegasus" decals. You could make it into either one. " The living legend " episode was on at the time, the return of the battlestar Pegasus., my favorite episode of the series. Lloyd Bridges as Commander Caine. The warmonger.
Strangely no, the caps for the bays are not included. I remembered hearing you mention the plastic from a milk jug to diffuse light when you were doing a demo on lighting a warp engine nacelle or something. It does work very well though.
Have to get through the 350 refit first. Even without lights, it's still turning into a challange.Purchased gray strongback aztecs to duplicate the screen appearance ship. Should be done soon. It wont be perfect, but I'm trying LOL. Waiting for the PL light kit combo pkg to become available in a few weeks for TOS 1/350. Also, going to tackel the large scale Jupiter 2 early next year. That should suck up more time and money (not to mention space). I'll post some videos then...
Very nice work! BTW, Moebius IS working on an all new tool Galactica model (they announced it at Wonderfest 2012). It will be more proportionally correct to the original studio model (Monogram's kit had good detail top and bottom, its just the side profile was a bit "off"). The size I believe will likely be close to that of the Monogram kit. I built one of these original kits as the Pegasus many years ago. Even with the shape issues, it was a fun model to do.
So the kit doesn't come with fronts ofor the launch bays? I can't take creds for hte mil jug plastic, that was Badgrendels, I think. Nice subtle lighitng!
Hey Boyd I just watched the Battlestar Galactica videos didn't know you built any Galactica Models Very Nice work. Presonaly I would have given the display base a nice wooden Staind look making it look like it belonged in a Commander Adama's office pretty cool idea I think Angin Very Nice Work on the CLASSIC BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.
This was one of the nicest-looking models ever created for a TV series... Loved the original series theme song, too. Very classy look. The fact that you had Star Wars veterans working on this show on the FX and design work probably helped! Didn't much care for any part of the "re-imagined", ultra-violent sex-in-space Galactica, though... That show was just too ugly and mean for my likes.
The ships looked great in the "new" Galactica, but it was to mean spirited to really be enjoyable. Much like the world around us. Not to mention the absolute lack of morals. The few episodes that I watched always left me feeling depressed afterward. The humans where so amoral that I found myself hoping that the Cylons would win. Anyway sorry for the ramble.
Now I can see how badly out of shape the hull is. Still, when it's the only game in town for over 30yrs, that's that. Probably just as bad as AMT1701 has been, afterall.
You must do another year end tour of your "museum"! Really nice work. Look forward to more!

Great build as always Boyd, thanks for making these videos.
Liking the modernized look. This is how I imagine the Galactica would have looked had NBC/Universal gone with a continuation of TOS.
As always another beatiful job. She looks awesome. I'm looking forward to your next build.

Model looks great. Really like the lit launch tubes. Definitely have to add that to my Battlestar fleet.
Thanks. I think the red lighting adds something to it as well. It was a fun model to work on.
WOW, already done??
That's awesome and looks like those Modeler's Brand products seem to work perfectly.
The Galactica in all of pride and glory its soo awesome :)
Looks really good. If Moebus does put one out, I'd like to see it at about 24" long.
Great job--love the red launch tubes!!!
A few days. Its not a complicated model but it took extra time to light it and do the paint weathering job.
Another great job Boyd! I have always loved this ship!

That's great news Jay! I had heard r\the rumors but nothing definite.
Can't wait to see that one.
NBC/Universal should hire you for their planned BSG series which is supposed to be on their upcoming Peacock streaming service.
Thanks CP.

Will do Frank. Have you started to build your 1/350 Enterprise kit?

The lights make it look like Christmas tree..not a good look.
