The only reason why people even talk about retaliation is because the disciplinary measures are never justified enough. Jeannot getting 3 games isn't justice, give him 5-10 and people will calm down.
Chicago. Text book case against total tear down. It hurts to see all of the great players they dumped still producing today for other teams, and then you look to see what Chicago has gained. Not enough.
Sometimes the #1 draft pick system in the NHL sucks. Players like Connor Bedard are forced to go to Chicago, when he's a hometown North Vancouver boy and would be a hugely valuable addition to the Canucks. The whole city would celebrate if that could happen. There should be some kind of option for these guys to move to another team after a year or two if things don't work out, rather than forcing them to spend the rest of their careers on a losing team.
Always thought for obvious non hockey plays that cause a player injury. The suspension should only start counting down when the injured player comes off injury leave. Meaning it ensures you are always playing less games then the player you took out. Have nuetral 3rd party review the recovery plan to ensure that teams dont abuse it to take out players for longer then appropriate for the injruy.
Chicago did a garbage job putting any supports (mentor or skill) around Bedard, when you compare how the Penguins supported Crosby in his first couple seasons. They brought in Taylor Hall, who learned to embrace losing games in Edmonton, which I'm not certain is the legacy you pick mentors from. If the Blackhawks had gotten even one top six right winger to play with him, they wouldn't have to move Bedard to the wing. The only other right winger is a guy who belongs on the 3rd or 4th line who shoots left.
I love the rapport these guys have with Ray.
Ray is bang on here about every single thing he's asked.
He’s the best

The Canucks record speaks for itself, this is who we are, end of story.
Rebuild only if you're gonna get a generational player like McDavid or Crosby!
