Dunno if anyone's mentioned this but H mavs are a great DEAD tool! You can use the area/force correlate mode to hit larger/softer vics up to 14-16 miles away, out of the range of most sams except sa2, 10, and just on the edge of the sa11 WEZ envelope. Use your tgp in snowplow mode and fly towards a sam. Locate missile launches, slew your tgp (zoomed out) onto the missile plume via hud, then fine-tune using tgp. Launch in area mode up to 14-16 miles away (and angels 15+) and run away. I'm sure this will be obsolete by the time the HMD and proper spi implementation arrive, but it's definitely workable for now.

For static targets just use JSOW, much safer and effective. Just enter coords of target before mission. Mavs are like very old system, too many clicks and workload for pilot in very dense environment. CBU-97s in CCRP are even more destructive.

And now with boresighting your mavs on the ground to that tyre that is like 2000 feet away will make your mavs bore to... 2000 feet away, wait until your will be 7 miles to target and 5 out of 10 times it will be WAY off. Aligning mavs to TGP should be done 7 miles to target in the air.
@@BunialskiTrip ground allignment of weapons it's a real and normal thing... you can do it precisely and concentrate on it. also on the groung you have to check and double check all slew, sensors and controls. that's normal procedure to get ready and checked all weapons
It's kinda sad that F-16 is the only module that needs this boresighting procedure. Also, inability to change bomb laser code, while other planes somehow can do it in the air.
Can you explain why you have to boresight the Maverick ? For me, ''boresight'' is looking straight ahead with the seeker in nominal active position. What you'll end up doing is slaving the Mav seeker to the TGP. Why would you slave it on the ground before hand and shut it off, to putting back on again and slave it again on your attack ? I don't get it ...
Basically the seekers and the tgp are looking different things, so you "boresight" the mavericks to be looking at the same thing as the tgp. This way whatever the tgp is looking at, the mavs will as well. You shut them off because the video of the maverick seeker can only stay on for 30 minutes. The seeker head can actually burn out and your maverick will be useless.
@@TrickerDCS Okay. But the TGP has still to hand-off its position the Mav seeker before launch, right ? So what's the point ? Is the handing off process quicker if you boresight the Mav before hand ?
@@TrickerDCS Yep I know for the Mav seeker coolant time limit. What I can't figure is what's the point of setting on something on the Mav just to have it lost right after with a shutdown ...
If you don't boresight the maverick to the tgp, the maverick seeker head will be looking somewhere else, and if you tms up on the tgp to command a handoff, the seeker off the maverick will not be looking at the same target. It's important to boresight the missiles on the ground or in the air so you can kill the target you're looking at in the TGP.

My issue is... I find it kinda cheese that the TGP looks at steerpoints. If you're flying around a location, and you're spontaneously given a fire mission, how would you get the TGP on a SPI really quickly without steerpoints? My work around is to drop a SPI with the mark function and JHMCS, but is there another way?

Like you can't change to VIS?
@@TrickerDCS Yeah, but I figured it out. With wpn soi I had to press TMS aft. That did the trick. No idea why, but it worked. Great video BTW.
And now with boresighting your mavs on the ground to that tyre that is like 2000 feet away will make your mavs bore to... 2000 feet away, wait until your will be 7 miles to target and 5 out of 10 times it will be WAY off. Aligning mavs to TGP should be done 7 miles to target in the air.
why cant the hornet carry 6 mavs?
Not cool enough 🙃
I was told to like and subscribe or i gets the hose again
Why you boresighting on the ground? I dont get it.
Because you can and it works, plus they do it IRL from a viper pilot
@@TrickerDCS I mean I have a lot to learn still and not sure if this means callibration of TGP with a maverick camera right?
@@BunialskiTrip ground allignment of weapons it's a real and normal thing... you can do it precisely and concentrate on it. also on the groung you have to check and double check all slew, sensors and controls. that's normal procedure to get ready and checked all weapons
Exactly as Alex said, doing on the ground let's you prepare before departing and then you don't have to worry about boresighting while airborne
Cant give more than 1 thumb up….. rly sad
It's kinda sad that F-16 is the only module that needs this boresighting procedure. Also, inability to change bomb laser code, while other planes somehow can do it in the air.
Yah well said
Is it supposed to be this complicated, or is ED working on this?
Early access, still being worked on like everything else unfortunately
@@TrickerDCS
Okay.
But the TGP has still to hand-off its position the Mav seeker before launch, right ?
So what's the point ?
Is the handing off process quicker if you boresight the Mav before hand ?
@@TrickerDCS
Yep I know for the Mav seeker coolant time limit.
When you power it off, it doesn't require a re-boresight.
Right here, did you say 'remember TMS F short or TMS Aft short? Great tutorials, I do really like how Bogey Dope throws up the control assignment view really quick every single time he mentions a Hotas function, would be really awesome if you did that as well, cheers!

align the mavs... jesus christ, the time ive wasted.
