Brilliant video rik, i love your shortbread recipe so i will try this. Whenever i have tried other millionaire shortbread recipes, no cream was added to the melted chocolate and i have a very hard time cutting it up without cracking the chocolate so then most squares have only a little chocolate (disaster) Adding the cream as you have is similar to ganache, but obviously you have only added a little. Doess that help with cutting it without it cracking? I even warm my knife and still the chocolate cracks, so i would finally love to master this recipe without cracking the chocolate Much appreciate this and all your videos 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Diane - you know there is a reader secret as they say but I honestly don't see a difference - I use the cream way the secret way is to melt the chocolate - take it off the heat and then stir in more chocolate - the chocolate does melt in eventually - now that what they teach however as you will see I do not do it that way. to be really honest I cant tell you - I've always done it this way to be fair. I don't have a problem with the chocolate - it could mean that is is a better way - I cannot guarantee - my problem lies with the caramel a couple of times I've left it to cook too long (been busy in the kitchen) and its set rock hard.
