"now I don't want you to get too attached to what i'm talking about right now" *me with my face practically in my screen absorbing everything he's saying writing mental notes*
I fell in love with this show, I was waiting for the second season... They are so honest, no filter and real af!! Total fan haha The eHarmony comment to me out 😂😂
As somebody on the spectrum (Asperger’s syndrome) this show is such a comfort watch. Most of my relationships have been unstable to say the least and seeing fellow auties being successful with dating shows me there could be hope for me. Thank you for making this video ❤
I love this show so much. Unless you have someone in your family on the spectrum most people have no real understanding about how common everyone is. The families in here are so sweet and supportive plus it humanize those on the spectrum because none are exactly the same but all want to love and be loves.
Thanks for introducing us to this show, Anthony. I was also smiling and saying, "Ah, that's so sweet" before you mentioned smiling at just how sincere this guy was. It seems like a lot of people on "the spectrum" don't have fake personas, and that's really refreshing tbh. It's like they're incapable of lying. Or the reason for doing so just to be nice doesn't even occur.
As someone who is on the spectrum myself, I really loved this show, and thank you Anthony for doing a video on it, and hopefully more to come as I'm learning alot!!
I watched both seasons of this show. Absolutely heartwarming and grounding. I love how relatable it is even though I'm not on the spectrum. I also love that you're reacting to it! Can't wait for part 2!
It’s absolutely taught to us to believe that that is how we achieve happiness. I’ve been trying to just appreciate the relationships I come acrosssed. 32 and have been single for whole whole adult life .. minus about a year altogether. I don’t want anyone to feel like we should own each other.. and honestly I just haven’t felt a good enough connection to anyone. But I’m learning a lot on here, so maybe I’ll find my best friend someday soon! Haha we’ll see.!!
8:00 when you describe getting into a network of like-minded people, expanding that network of friends, finding a compatible person amidst that network... as an adult on the spectrum, that sounds EXHAUSTING... to the point of being a practical impossibility. it takes a LOT of energy for me to interact socially, so I do it sparingly, and have very few friends (currently 2, that I don't even see) and frankly don't want much more... Unfortunately, I'd like to be in a relationship with someone compatible more than anything. It's also, unfortunately, been principle in my purpose, and therefore has carried incapacitating importance. I do not enjoy being myself, and it is difficult and tiresome to fake--I understand faking emotions is also frowned upon. For reasons I question, I've been in quite a few relationships, they are short and obviously don't last. i attribute my ability to get into relationships to 3 main things: perhaps of foremost importance is that i happen, by chance, to be attractive enough that others are willing to do a lot of the social work and approach me; secondly, i work very hard at understanding people based on what information they provide me and have practiced long through trial-and-error; and lastly, I move frequently--most of my relationships have started with roommates. Lately, I have been working hard to resign myself to a lifetime of loneliness, and working to avoid discontinuing existence in the interim (successful so far!). Thinking/remembering that my primary opportunities for engagement would take so much socializing... does not inspire hope... it inspires determination to feel no emotion, which is difficult and requires determination, but not nearly as much as developing a network of friends. rats...
this show makes me wonder why people who are not on the spectrum refuse to date people who are on the spectrum. feel like some of these guys would be the sweetest boyfriends in the world!
@@ananse77 So you know that the show doesn't really do what the person asked? Which makes you questioning them even weirder. It doesn't pair up people on the spectrum with people not on it. Kaelynn from the US show said to the producers she prefers to date NTs and they decided not to bring her back because they want to put autistic people with autistic people so NTs can watch the show and go "awwww look at these creatures, they're trying to be like us"
@@joevictor53 Yes, I misread her statement. But why so bitter and cynical? "Poor me" identity politics is so useless and is a ticket to misery. Stay away from that for your own sake.
This show is amazing! And also I am needy. I need a person to be happy. And as you sad it is bad and it shouldn't be like that. I didn't know what to do. Like I feel I need love, I miss love. And I think it is from my childhood and my teenhood that I'm still in. From like I was treated and raised. And recently I found out I have Asperger's Syndrome
I found it by googling and followed, but you forgot to add your twitch link to your description even though you said you were going to twice in the video :)
Oxytocin is only found in mammals that mate for life. I don’t think our whole purpose and value is found in being with someone but I do believe we are inherently created to be with someone and find love. However, I think we could be okay if we didn’t.
You can get oxytocin in a lot of different ways and it's not about how long you've been with a romantic partner. Whenever a mom or father holds their infant/child they feel oxytocin, when you cuddle oxytocin, long hugs oxytocin.
@@elliebellieboo My perception is that he meant that neediness was being portrayed in the show. Nowhere do I see a generalisation that “all autistic people are needy”. He does something similar with other shows that he watches .
