Vinyl wrap the rear fender part BLACK OR spray fender well liner on it. It'll be super durable and black.
That way it's darkened without having to modify the mesh.

Black Plasti-Dip works as well as vinyl wrap just another sugestion for making it darker i agree with Danny though too!

I’ve used the same stuff, it’s way better than what he is using for sure. It’s perfect for what he is trying to do also. I completely agree with using the gutter guards. They even come in black so he wouldn’t have to paint them.
Why don't you just insert some black vinyl inside there, it'll hide it better and you don't need that section to be purple anyway.

Hey from an OG, get black vinyl and stick on locations you want hidden (skirt rear panel), paint the mesh black as well, that should hide from spectators viewable eye. Good luck with chasin dem dreams!

Screen mesh from front doors are the perfect solution for your problem. The individual wires are thicker and more tightly woven. They basically make it less transparent and better for durability.
Now 2 step then you can 2 step it with blackwidow
leave the wire mesh the way it is and just wrap the part you can see through there black and that will make it less visable

The mesh you were looking for is where they keep the outside stuck-o supplies. The mesh is used on the outside of buildings to keep mortar stuck to a building.

TJ, layer some window screen mesh behind the chicken wire. They sell them in different grades. You can potentially keep the chicken wire silver then contrast the color with the window mesh. It will help to make the silver chicken stand out. 👍
You could also pick up some mesh that is used for wall patches. More of a diamond pattern that you want.
Heat up the mesh and pull on the corners so that the square mesh becomes diamond mesh
Screen door section has a lot of patterns and materials like brass, aluminium and galvanized.
You can also find expanded metal or diamond wire in the stucco section next to the foam.

Find body filler patch panels. They are mesh and small triangle shapes. Might be a lot easier to hide behind it. I believe you can find them at auto part stores or body shops.

The mesh your were looking for is builders expanded mesh which is steel nailed to concrete so you can render over it. Its got that pattern you want and is used by many in body kits. From what I can see in your clip it's the same as the mesh on the hood vents. You can get it in aluminium and galvanised steel at builders supply yards.

TJ- use cooling fabric that you would use traditionally for an outdoor Lanai. It's tightly wound mesh for privacy but still allows airflow and slight visibility

Black vinyl the body so that its darker and then speaker mesh over that to completely hide the welds. Fix it to the car however you want. Another tip, you can pull the square mesh to look like a diamond shape. Diamond shapes are elongated squares after all.

Bro, they have a dry wall sandpaper that looks like a screen. It works really well keeping water and crap out, while still allowing air to flow through as well as masking the the imperfections behind.

Why don’t you get meshed glass that they use in windows and then tint them a lighter shade of black. Its the window glass that you would see in schools for example. That way, they’ll hide whatevers behind the kit but you can still see through them as of they were open. And finally, you’ll still have the mesh design that you like:)
Diamonds would have been achieved if he just turned them 90 degrees and cut larger, then fit to size.
babolatuser1 go rotate a square 90 degrees and tell me what shape you end up with. I was actually gonna comment, rotate square mesh 45 degrees to get diamonds. However to get the desired effect he is after, ala 1st Gen cts-v or c5 z06, he needs to buy 1/4 in woven wire mesh, and still rotate 45 degrees, then cut. That home depot stuff was not the correct move. I'm honestly most disappointed in Calvin for not figuring this out.

Tj its very simple using that mash. Just put multiple sheets overlaying eachother so it looks like the mash is finer. You can decide how much layers you want put the more layers the more cover you get. Like so tj sees this

TJ, I have done the same thing as you did on my kit. Except for some reason everyone does black or silver. I use primer and went with a bright safety cone orange as an accent color. I'm running a Cwest front bumper, voltex rep side skirts, and Vis carbon hood. All of the mesh is orange and is a good accent color for my setup. Food for thought on the idea. Or you could have got a role of screen mesh for a screen door. It's smaller and if painted the areas your trying to cover want be as noticeable.

SUGGESTION! T. J. what you really wanted to get is leaf guard, it's mesh to keep leaves out of your gutter. It looks like legit car grill material. You don't see through like that chicken wire you bought.

TJ, use window mesh. Cut up pieces of window mesh and put it behind your home depot mesh. It'll help hide it more.

Hey Teej, you can get permanent marker off by coloring over it repeatedly with dry erase marker. Dry erase marker is just marker and solvent, so it takes it off as you keep coloring (let it sit for 5 mins) you're welcome bud!

From home depot. It breathes so little to no added drag and the way it's woven it won't show anything behind. Mount that behind the mesh you already installed and boom. Hope your thanksgiving went well.

ye go back to home depot and usually where u can find bags of cement and what not ull find a unique diamond mesh that is also thicker then the bird screen u got. at the same time its flexible and easy to work with.
some times they also have the diamond mesh in the tile and grout area.

You could always use the mesh that goes on screen doors or you could just paint the factory rear fender black. You could also try vents that look like the ones for your ac in the car. I think that lower opening would be awsome as an exhaust exit. Lol
I don't know what you call them in Murica but you could try stretching some black tights/pantyhose over the mesh, It might look absolute s**t but worth a try 👍
Try matte or satin black plastidip or vinyl wrap on the section of panel you want to cover up, covers the colour with no risk of shine and won't ruin any paint underneath the wrap making it virtually impossible to see and safe for your car :)

What you used is hardware cloth. Stick with that, you just need to find some that's a thicker gauge. Once you find something you like, I would install it at an angle. That way you get your diamond look. Also, maybe do every grill insert the same material so everything is uniform. Either way, do what you like. 16 guage perforated sheet metal with 1/8” diamonds any metal supply co has it in stock and scraps big enough. And use binder folding tacks.

Hey Tj try using gutter guard mesh it's has smaller openings that are diamond shaped also you can get some that is already gloss black from The Home Depot
Also double it up and offset them to where the lines are even except for in between the squares so that you get extra line and the squares become smaller so essentially doubling them up and offsetting them will close the gaps more and make the appearance of the cut wheel wells less noticeable

The mesh you are looking for is gutter guard they have the diamond pattern you need and they make it in black white and almond they have vinyl or metal kind it matches your mesh under the hood like a boss
Have you seen a screen door? You should go back to Home Depot and buy the screen used in those. It’s much finer and comes pre painted. Ready steady... go!
You said the answer yourself TJ, window screen mesh. Go to a window and screen store and get a large piece of screen mesh and place it in the gap and paint it black.
Yo teeg! Re-use the same wire and just double stack it and offset the second layer the decrease the size of the gaps between the wires. You could even triple stack it if you wanted. Just keep offsetting each layer and you will be golden pony boy 👍👍
Or just put window tint behind the mesh, it would still be translucent but would also darken the area a bit.
You could go get some screen that is used for house windows / screen door material and put it behind your screen. Use the same mounting spots, should be pretty easy.
You just need a mesh that has a smaller paten to it, similar to what was originally in the bonnet , the finer the design the less that will show from behind also painting behind the mess with a flat black and leaving the mess silver works well .Most car accessories shops will sell the diamond shaped mess in different sizes .
Hey TJ, if you want check out fly or insect screen (you may be able to get it at Home Depo or something). A very tight mesh that'll hide it much better, plus it'll usually be black.
You should just paint the stock fender that’s showing behind the kit black. The black paint would make that ugly stock part of the car a lot less visible. And you can use plasti dip so you can peel it off later and not have to worry about hurting anything
Use the mesh for like a screen door that you can get at Home Depot. Much tighter holes and already black!
you could double or triple up on the mesh, making it a finer weave and decreasing the visibility from one side to the other
Just take some mat black wrap and cover up the "mess behind the mesh" itself.
It'll still be there, but way harder to be seen and it's a cheap way - especially, if it's just a temporary solution.
Teej, you should use flyscreeen (like the type screen doors/windows are made of) to put behind the mesh. because the holes are so fine and it's already black I think it would do a good job
vinyl wrap the back of the mesh black the side facing the inner fender I don't know if it will work but its worth a try
Wrap the underside in black. Also if you turn the square mesh, you can have diamond mesh.
Use the mesh as a base and fiberglass the vents shut, mold and sand flat, that way you can just wrap to match
Look towards screen door mesh, something along those lines, the holes are super tiny and create a dark layer
For your mesh, buy a used junker speaker with a metal grill and cut that up. It'd be fuller and would probably hide better, seeing as you can't see the speaker cones through them in the first place.
I would do small louvers in the gaps, if you did them vertically it would look like a shutter and hide it completely
use a window screen and paint it black. way smaller of holes in a window screen so you wont see through it nearly as easily if you stay 2-3 pieces and paint all black! love the brz teeg keep er goin'
Home Depot sells rain gutter guards that are sheets of metal that have the diamond pattern you are looking for and would fill that space better than the chicken wire.
Behind the mesh put legit screen (painted black) off like a screen door if you get what I'm saying because it will hide it a lot more
You should’ve added a second layer of the mess but move it like half a space to the left and another half space up, so then the squares in the mesh would be smaller (half of a quarter inch) if that makes any sense, and it would cover up more
You could put fabric mesh behind the wire mesh and you can pull on square mesh to make it into a diamond shape
The diamond mesh is in the section where they have the gutter materials. Its even sold already painted black
For a better screen go to the drywall section and there’s a big sheet you buy for a few bucks and the holes are diamonds
Now sure if you fixed the mesh, but you could thicken it plasti dip spary. Just keep adding even layers and it'll build a nice thickish mesh look
