Keith Moore, you and some of us that have lived by faith for decades, know that it works, and I don't believe you or I or many others could ever change what we have seen that works. We've got the miracles to prove it!!!
This is almost blasphemy if it isn't already. Ascribing to a man what is used in the Word to describe the Lord Jesus. "Who then is Paul? Who is Apollos but ministers through whom you believed..." the Apostle Paul says (1 Corinth 3:5). And some place else he the Apostle says again, "For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sakes" 2 Corinth 4:5. You may not have meant to err, (and glory to the Lord for your heart's joy at the Word of God when from this man of God whose ministry also blesses me) however this is reason as believers we should be not careless with our words. Through out the books of Proverbs 8, 1 Corinth 1:24, 30 and other places the Lord is expressly described as the Personification of Wisdom. Just wanted to help you see a little possible error I perceived with what was said. God bless you.
There is much preaching and teaching on the subject of faith, but the question is: "Faith in What?" The greatest apostle (Paul) that ever lived believed and asked God to remove the "thorn in his flesh," but God did not respond favorably to his request. As a professor of theology, we must move past the subject of "faith" and preach the whole counsel of God.
I have a question Prof Jensen. If it is written that only through Faith can we have salvation, then how can we be reconciled unto the Heavenly Father AND commune with Him AND be a follower of our Lord Savior if there isn't a clear belief and understanding of Faith? Interacting with the Living Word of God not only requires love, but it also requires Faith. Without Faith in the Holy Spirit one would need multiple PHDs to get a tenth of revelation and wisdom from the word of the Lord then someone who is full of faith and allows the Holy Spirit to lead them through the word. That takes Faith. Faith comes by hearing. Hearing by the Word of God. But not just the written word, the spoken word of God for man cannot live on bread alone, but by every word that procedeth out of the mouth of God. Without Faith. There will be no obedience because one must believe and love the Word of God. Jesus came to preach the good news of the Kingdom of God. You can't even see that Kingdom without strong Faith. Although I stay in the Old Testament often. I have to turn myself back to Jesus and remind myself that I am not under the wrath of God. I have a Savior and because I am his than God just isn't my God, he's my Father. We will only have THAT kind of relationship through Faith, that is Salvation. That is everlasting life. Otherwise when we aren't doing everything through Faith, through Jesus, then the wrath of God abides on us. John 3:36. Peace and Grace be multiplied unto you from our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. That is Faith.
i like the point that he is making and I completely agree, 100%, yet I wonder about when paul said "Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ" which is also referenced in Phillipians 3.17... can someone expound and bring some context into that?
We all learn through imitation. But Faith requires belief in Jesus. Which is truly believing in the Word of God. That belief comes from love. The complete desire to please God. In the name of Jesus, I believe, that when we submit to our Savior and want to please Him and believe his word is true then we can imitate practical applications or ways of behavior, compassion, kindness etc. We can follow (which is also a form of imitation) their examples and use their examples, experimenting, seeking, listening, hearing, obeying, believing until signs wonders and miracles happen every day, and we develop our own belief . Some things that someone does may work in Faith for someone else. The key is belief and love in Christ. You can't imitate belief. If you believe, then whatever example you are following (imitating) in the name of Jesus, it will come to pass.
Why do we grow old and die? GOD did not want humans to die. Our first parents, Adam and Eve, were created with a perfect mind and body. They could still be alive today. This is clear from what God said to Adam about a tree growing in the garden of Eden. God said to Adam: “The day you eat [from the tree] you will surely die.” - Genesis 2:17. This command would have been meaningless if Adam had been created to grow old and die. Adam knew that if he did not eat from that tree, he would not die. GOD'S PURPOSE WAS NOT THAT PEOPLE DIE. God said to Adam: "Eat your bread with the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground from where you were taken. for you were dust and you will become dust. ”- Genesis 3: 17-19. As a result, “all the days of Adam's life were nine hundred and thirty years and he died.” - Genesis 5: 5. Adam did not go to heaven or hell. Or live in a spiritual realm. What is the Resurrection? The Bible's answer In the Bible, the Greek word translated "resurrection" means "to stand" or "to restore." The resurrected person is resurrected from the dead and is the same person who was before. - 1 Corinthians 15:12, 13. It is true that the word "resurrection" is not found in the Hebrew Scriptures, which are known as the Old Testament, but the promise of resurrection is there. For example, through the prophet Hosea, God promised: “I will rescue them from the hand of the grave, and I will rescue them from death.” - Hosea 13:14; Job 14: 13-15; Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12: 2, 13. I'm a different person now, however, I don't know him, do not attend his church!!! just watching!!!! and u call him charlatan? well does not need to prove you anything, God will teach you something, may his love cover your life....
