You have no idea how much you’ve saved my ass.. I’m working on my first webtoon ever and I’m so nervous.. So, thank you.. this helped me millions💛💛 I love u!
Wow. That was intense! I'd love to see a full page done in time lapse with voiceover or text. Are you drawing your idea first or do you have a story outline before you put ink to paper? Love your teaching style.
Text can be done in affinity designer ($20 only!!) on the pro and you can install fonts too. AD can do a lot of what Illustrator can do. I am just learning both AD & Procreate so I like using both. So no need to go back to Photoshop just yet. I am amazed at the tools available on the Pro and so cheap. Affinity's answer to Photoshop (Affinity Photo?) is also $20 but I haven't looked into it yet.
Ohhhh my gosh thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been using Clip Studio but I am so over the iPad version it just isn't optimized very well and everything takes twice as long as it needs to compared to Procreate. Appreciate the video!
I love how simple and to the point your explanation is. I've been using your previous video (the photoshop one) and it has been a tremendous help especially as I am new to digital art. I was wondering if you would be able to make a video on the fastest way to make comics on an android (I have the samsung galaxy tab s3) and don't have access to procreate. I really want to be able to draw on the go on my samsung tablet.
First off, I love your educational videos, thank you for teaching us so much. If I could ask anything, please remake this video with less blur of camera quality
Can’t remember if you‘ve done anything like that already, but I‘m kind of having trouble with the tools at times. Like, when you first start the app, there isn’t even a regular brush that just gives you a fully colored dot if you tap it onto the canvas, they’re expecting you to paint like you would with an actual literal brush and paint which is not my intention. I ended up solving that one by taking a photo with my iPad‘s camera covered and installing the black photo as a brush, but I can’t help but wonder if there are any more brushes and particularly ink tools(I always mess up the lines to the point where the bucket tool doesn’t work properly, though that’s likely my own fault as well) that I should absolutely customize somehow because the regular version might not suffice in the long run. I mean, this is the program that doesn’t have a text tool after all.
Can you please do a video on how to add text in comic using multiply layer you did here? How do you arrange text written randomly on a separate page over a drawn comic page? 🤔
Hey brooks! This was super helpful! Our drawing style and way of working is very similar too so all of your tips really help out! Any tips on inking brushes in procreate? I’m having a reeeeally hard time finding a brush or tool setting that makes lines like you are demoing that have a decent taper like a G pen in clip studio or just a basic brush in photoshop.
It doesn't look like a standard brush. If you slow down the video it says "Tara's oval ink" and it is imported. I typed in "tara's oval ink procreate" into google and the first link it to the gumroad website where you can buy the brushes from DizzyTara.
Hi , wonderful tutorial! Just what I need to do my own comic on ipad. I'm just confused on one part- At 3:42 - you drew a red line outside the panel to close up the gap and then you deleted it after the color is filled . How or which layer did you draw that in- since you've clip the layers- how come you can still draw "out of the clipping area"? tks
That red line was actually just a representation i edited in later of how i looped the black lines together outside of the boundary. Even though they arent visible on screen, they still exist!
I learned about the smash bros method here I knew this was this case but I've never used it to my advantage. Same with the straighten line tool I always do that on accident lol!
i can't understand, why my colors are always colors everything =( I made the same steps with a clipping mask, reference, but anyway, when i want to color something of outer boundary of my characters to the other end of them outside of the panel... colors are everywhere D:
Hi Brookes! Thanks so much for making this video, it’s definitely gonna help me out a bunch. I was wondering, is there any way to make a white outline on procreate?
Thank you, Michael! At the moment, there isn't a stroke equivalent to Photoshop, no. However, you can always make quick shapes if it's simple, you can duplicate, turn white, and size up or offset. Considering they recently added selection feathering, I think an official version is coming down the pike!
