The rise of the internet is the thing to blame. Back then, before the internet was a big deal and easily accessable by everyone, the only real way to debut stuff like new music was through tv and radio. with the way the world is now, most poeple know about new music from bands even before the record labels release any information. With the internet you dont have to wait until TRL comes on to find out when the new single from your fav band will be out, or the next tour announcement, ect. There is no real build up or surprise anymore when you can get online and just look it up. So, of course no one watched these shows anymore and ratings dropped. MTV had to find another avenue for programming or fade away. The "instant accessability" of the internet has changed the world, and its not always for the better. I was 13 when this show aired and remember it well. I miss the old days and ways of doing things.
lol, my brother did an art work for Korn and i saw a glimpse of it because he still has all the drafts he did for it. really cool they did that, wish i was old enough at the time to do it haha
Oh boy....this brings back memories. I found myself in the crowd ..yipes. The "free CD" was just the case- they mailed us the actual cd weeks later! The people outside showing their wristbands were really pissed- they were supposed to get inside, but didn't. I felt badly for them. It was a fun time though....
@@rinzler2012 well it’s understandable. If they had the actual CDs in there people would just try and steal them. They could easily just steal them and run.
MTV was so awesome. Glad we all grew up with this shit. Recording "Spankin' new" "buzzworthy" and "world premiere" video's after school on the VCR. Stay well. I love you all

Does go perfect. I mean KoЯn usually has lyrics about Jon being made fun of, treated shit shit, how life is full of shit, etc. This doll represents you (like Alfredo said) after you've been beaten up, ripped apart, etc. Goes well with what KoЯn was back then. Also with the album. I saw some of the other artwork and many of it also would have been epic. Some was just KoЯn, dark pictures but nothing really about what the lyrics have been about.
They were so huge back in the late 90's and thats exactly when I got into the band, good times, wish I still had my og merch and cd's, had the double sided FTL poster too.

@@llnn5112 a six string is a whole different ball game. Try and play classic rock without the low E string, sure you could mess with tunings to get the remaining five strings to mimic what you could do with 6, but it’s never going to sound right. And so it is with six vs seven string guitars.
@@sealboy1211 Well man, it was the 90's, think about it. Korn was at the top of the charts and probably seven string guitars were quite expensive and sought after.
Exactly. I believe somewhere around after 1997 was when MTV started slowly slipping away from what it was meant to stand for and then it began slowly going down the toilet over the years. And as for Korn I think they got off on the whole fame popularity crap which is a shame because when they just came out with their first 2 albums they were nothing like that they were doing it for their passion, not for money and fame. I think MTV ruined Korn's credibility and reputation.
life was good in 1999 and so was music

this was the last period of mtv supporting proper music. it all changed by about 2004/2005 I think.

The good ole days! Korn truly owned the rock music world at this point and time.
They were going through bad times too back stage and at home, which HEAD has explained since 2005.
You’ll never see interviews and programs like this ever again. Because there will never be another band like KoRn.

Johnny Crespo swagger and dat boo sheeet
