Maricopa is home to one of the most forlorn Amtrak stations. Their Sunset Limited is always running late, and the stop is 35 miles from downtown Phoenix. Aside from Amtrak’s woes, Maricopa is a great place for spotting fast moving long trains!
Excellent location, mr Carter's Caboose. This video is made in Arizona, the container trains is coming from and going to the port of Los Angeles and Long Beach i guess. The different between the American railroadcompanys and the European railroadcompanys is big. In the last train in this video i count 3 empty railcars with open cargodoors, in Europa is that not done. Before the trains leaving the railway yard all cars will be inspected by a carmaster( in Dutch: wagenmeester). A car not safety out the train. Be careful when you filming trains hold 8 feet distance between the rail against you. Thanks for the video's i like them. Greet from a portworker in the port of Amsterdam, also unloading and loading trains.
Wow! Great stuff! I hope your cameras are on a stand and you are remote controlling! A brake shoe flew off an Amtrak once and missed me by inches. That would have been a really bad day if it hit me. Stay safe out there! And thanks for the awesome videos!!
Can anyone tell me when is good time to see trains in this area (Maricopa, Mesa, etc. in AZ)? Having a hard time finding information regarding times. Thank you from a brand-new train watcher.
Doubtful any good times in Mesa. Just the branch line that ends in PHX. Maricopa seems to be busy early in morning and then around 2-3PM. But all of this varies.

The crossing bell ruins it.
Facts, gotta get further away from them.
