These have been so handy. Great timing too. I started building a forge a long time ago and had left off at an open rectangle on top till I could figure out a better burn set up than the venturi tubes. Im building the ribbon one tomorrow. I got all the supplies and am pretty excited to finally get it done. Thanks for the tips

What i found out about refractory cement while making lids of aluminum furnace is that best way to cure the refractory is to put it on the top of a wood stove.As the stove heats up it will super slowly heat up the cement ,it wont reach super high temperature suddenly and it just works wonders.If you got thick refractory like i had on lid you can drill small vent holes for the moisture to come out .Depending on the thickness do the dry process for 2-3 days like that ,slowly let it cool down over night.Works wonders !

Is the gas fitting that goes into the elbow with the barb on it anything special as far as size goes?

rob great forge bro im gonna buy one from you in the spring when i get back to work . How much xtra to put a back door on it? what psi were you running at in the video? these must be alot more efficant when it comes to burning up propane would last alot longer i would think
