Hiroshima Mon Amour by Alain Resnais is an elemental masterpiece that I personally regret not seeing sooner. This film has taught me so much as a filmmaker myself from the very first frame and line of dialogue till the last. The way this film presents memory, love destruction and the nature of dreams in the most Ozu-like fashion in this classic French film.
