Hip hop has no place criticizing it. Hip hop literally glorifies the streets and has done far more damage than what a 7 day stream could do. I don't think people realize how smart Kai is for doing that. Before, if you typed Kai Cenat Jail in Google, you see him getting arrested for the NY event. Now, you'll get the stream. He's scrubbing search results this way. I can almost guarantee the idea sparked the day he was held in booking with his boys and people arrested at the event.

As a 40 yr old Black man that has been locked up, I find the segments I’ve seen were funny. Ppl are always gonna find an issue with something. “It’s only entertainment”-Jay-Z
As a man who's been to prison for 2 years I've seen both situations in prison first hand. The "OZ" & "kai cenat" depiction are both real. Some prisons are called "cupcake camps" for this exact reason. I know it sounds crazy but some people live better lives inside than free because they had nothing good going but inside they are taken care of & free to do nothing with their "friends". Then there's the prisons who actually try to help you get/become better through education & training, but those aren't entertaining.
This! I know of people who purposely went to jail, because they were atm homeless or without money. And they knew it was better in jail 😂.

I went to prison 3x for almost 10 years total.
What he streamed is more a reflection of county not prison. Depending on county ( California) you’re segregated or mixed, some are tough, some are nasty and filled with lazy people. Prison has soft yards, but any 3 or 4 levels this would be unrealistic. I’ve had a man get brutally stabbed about 5 steps from me with the equivalent of a water faucet that’s on with high water pressure but his blood squirting out from his body… you know what we did? Nothing, me and the guys would look away and start complaining that we wouldn’t get store later on or day room because of it. It gets so violent but you become numb to it.

The difference between power and whwtever other shows that portray jail is there is a story and lesson that overarchingly says "dont go, this shit ain't good for you". A live stream hanging out in jail glorifies it on a level these drug shows do not. Also of course jsil doesnt look appealing to 30+ year old men ehove lived their lives and are in full control. The difference between what kai cenat is doing vs trap music, is that most adults that listen to trap music know most of it is just lyrics and fake. Movies, even tho some are based off real events, we all know its just a bunch of actors and cameras. As they go back home to their family after a night of shooting. Kai cenats following are children that believe whether its a skit , tiktok, or whatever they typically believe everything they see on a screen is real. And will go out to imitate it. Only dumb adults will do that. 90% of kids will follow what they see.
The only trouble with the 'entertainment' is that while everybody else is picking sides on whether to be mad at 'content' or not, majority of people really don't know how to make a discernment of all the noise.
Once you make a discernment of all the noise, it's easy not to get sucked up in it.
The noise here being each other's preference and life experience and the preferences and experiences of close ones.
Like every other piece of 'entertainment' that has always been put out for consumption, there's a team behind it, a team that plays its part to ensure that you roll in whatever mud that is spread out.
And like every other piece of 'entertainment', without knowing how to make a discernment of the noise it generates, it's easy to be fooled that the mud has some benefit.
