What a brilliant gimmick from a very brilliant entertainer. Undertaker, Kane, and Mankind are the holy trinity of scariness when kayfabe was still alive.
I’ve said this for years now and I’m gonna stand by it every time, Jim Johnston needs more respect put on his name when it comes to making wrestling theme music. The man just knew how to make legendary theme songs.
Yes that is the man who produced the undertaker's famous "rest in peace" theme song with the classic bell ringing sound. Notes in this mankind piece particularly invoke a sense of intrigue/curiosity, but also lack of control or imminent danger. Which is why the theme was able to really go well with his act.
slim roberto Does what better? They aren’t even similar. Mankind actually made everyone believe he was some sort of insane schizophrenic back in the day
1990 Taker was horrifying as a child. The makeup, his attire, and theme. He should have kept that dark auburn hair color, it made him look more pale. More 'unalive'.
This was my favorite Mankind theme music to start the match then his soothing piano music when he won matches at the end perfectly encapsulated his psychotic characters nature ending with Ode to Freud to quell the beast inside. Also really liked the more Rock/Metal version of this theme music last used on January 4th 1999 when he won his 1st of 3 WWF World Titles
Mick Foley dedicated his life to hardcore wrestling. He put his body and safety on the line almost every time. He had barb wire matches, explosion deathmatches and not to mention Hell in a Cell with the Undertaker. He is one tough SOB and rightful Hall of Famer
Not the best entrance video but mankind has to have the most interesting entrance video ever. The music fits perfectly and the entrance video is so well made

I'll be 38 next week and this theme still feels so chilly today. Been a fan of mankind since I was a kid. He had a level of crazy that no wrestler TODAY well ever replicate
This theme and Mankind in general scared the absolute fuck out of me as a kid, so they definitely did their job. Don't even get me started on how Mick asked Undertaker to damn near murder him in my hometown Pittsburgh.
This theme used to scare the crap out of me, as a kid. Now as an adult... I have respect for it. Mankind is truly, a one of a kind legend. Very unique and stands out, from the rest. Whenever I hear this song the first thing that comes to mind is Mankind slowly walking to the Hell in a Cell, throwing the chair on top and then climbing up. King of the Ring 1998.
Mankind I rarely speak of because his theme and character in a word demented. All of Foley is legend. But he was integral because characters as complex as he bring a richness of depth to the whole era and business. It gives the group more room to develop.
I miss the old days when titantron video shows clips like this instead of the wrestler name it make the wrestler more charismatic and have personality of their own
The original 1996 Mankind was even more scarier then Kane and undertaker because he was not that supernatural monster He was just a sizoprhrenic maniac Who loved to torture others and himself

He channeled all that into Mankind, and Mick is the only man alive who could get that gimmick over. Thank you Mick Foley for all the memories

@Paraone Ngatai so Gangrel shouldn't be added?

Especially when a theme is taken from one of the most famous classical opera like this…Adagio for strings from Samuel Barber 😂😂😂
He will get his day, believe me. It’s just a matter of WHEN he gets in the HoF. Sooner the better
There's just something so...haunting about this theme.
It fits Mankind _too_ good.

@@johnreese6409
Considering it's Mankind, he would probably consider it beautiful.
Then listen to his original victory theme right after this video. He had a second theme he used as an "exit theme" if he was the winner
