I love this trailer because Thanos could easily be the protagonist of this story.
But he is
Zachary Chanoi He is the protagonist. Protagonist refers to the central character, not necessarily the good guys or the guys we are cheering for.
Eric Beard Yes, but my point is that context defines “hero” and “villain”. Thanos is the hero of the story in which we track his motivations/intentions and ultimately see him succeed. That’s what’s so incredible about the ending shot of infinity war, while our hearts are freshly aching we see Thanos pop a squat and smile. The hero has completed his journey.
It’s also what makes Thanos so compelling is that we see him view himself as a hero.
And then that’s what’s ultimately so cool about the moment in Endgame when he shirks all nobility and says “screw it, I’m killing all of you.”
The hero has lived long enough to see himself become a villain.

Why do fans make better trailers than actual trailer editors?
This isn't really 100% fan made. The Godzilla trailer inspired this fan made so heavily which is why it is in the title. The music and the beautiful imagery showed in the Godzilla trailer is why the person who made this tried to replicate it. It's not like the person who made this fan-made constructed the whole music.
Those who are willing to do something out of passion and not for the end goal of a paycheck usually give the best results. Just look at the modding community vs the base games they've built off of. There are game that were released in the 1990s that maintain a higher player base than some games that came out in 2018 thanks to the mods
Studios, said given clips, licensing to songs/music needed. Anybody could make a trailer without following proper procedures.
Fans don't have deadlines to meet, they create it out of their will.
If the studio released this trailer then people would have figured out the whole film, you know the fans they are picky when it comes to spoilers and theories.. Studios have to take care about not spoiling too much.
I love how you lined Cap’s scream up with Millie’s scream from the trailer. And even though the film is very dark, you still captured that sense of wonder. You’re a genius. That’s all there is to it.

This is my thirty fifth time watching this trailer and I wish this was the trailer Marvel would have used. This is single handily the best trailer for a movie I have ever seen. From the music, the specific dialogue chosen and scenes displayed. Spark such an epic to be embarked on and explored. The trailer gives off such an emotional vibe from the respected view of the Mad titan himself. You've manage to make me question the title given to him in this short of time. Seriously CarpenterSound you are amazing and I thank you for such a masterpiece of a cut.

As someone who has loved movie trailer his entire life (sometimes even more than movies themselves), this is hands down the best trailer I have ever seen.

I was actually moved the first time I saw it. It actually made the film feel much more epic than when I saw it in the theater. And I saw Infinity War on an IMAX screen...
And having watched the film at home after viewing this trailer, I really felt the sheer scope of the film was enhanced by your trailer.

Charlie Bear you said it perfectly. This trailer standing alone is a work of art, the editing, the impeccable song choice, the drama, and the storytelling. It reminds me of the Assassins Creed cinematic trailers, that in my experience artistically outperform the entire games themselves. Infinity war is a masterpiece, and the work you have done here exemplifies its cinematic power.
I love this trailer. It gives a seemingly natural vibe to the destruction and agony. Like it’s inevitable no matter how hard they fight. The music makes it seem like you’re powerless to stop it. Like how at every turn, Thanos is able to outwit our heroes. He’s like Godzilla. A force of nature that you can’t beat. No matter how you fight, no matter how you beg. He will win. And he’s not even wounded till the last moments of the movie. I love how the trailer captures all that! Love it! Great job!

I love how in this trailer it's almost as if Thanos is made to be the protagonist.
I think that's a good thing because it shows just how narcissistic he is, he views it all from his viewpoint. But you as the viewer get to see how deranged that viewpoint really is with inspiring music over death and destruction caused by him. But the inspiring music also is played over those trying to do good, it shows the dichotomy between the two sides. The music kind of brings the nature of each side out like a blacklight.

This trailer makes the story look like it's from Thanos's point of view.
The juxtaposition of Debussy's Clair de Lune against that beautiful cinematography was almost breath taking when I first saw it, and still remains a stunning musical pairing with those scenes from Infinity War. I don't think as many recognize the value of music to cinema, and doing edits like this as there should be.
