Very informative video. A few books to checkout: The Man Died (1971), by Wole Soyinka; The Nigerian Revolution and Biafran War (1980), by Alexander Madiebo and Never Again (1975), by Flora Nwapa
There was a country by Chinua Achebe is a good recommendation. Another similar work of personal experiences but leans towards fiction is half a yellow sun by Chimamanda Adichie.
Sozaboy by Ken Saro-wiwa was a very interesting book for me! I’d suggest you read after maybe one book that focuses solely on history. This book is written in pidgin, the first I have ever read and gives you a narrative from the perspective of a soldier to show the perspectives of citizens who kinda didn’t really know/ have a decision in the war but had to join it to survive. It takes you away from the big picture and zooms you in to the individual
If you want to read a really good book and I think you really like books my mother wrote one she wrote called perhaps in God's Lifetime by Maggie Helen and her lesson Harries I love you so much and she died and I would like to celebrate her and let you know about her book and I enjoyed your presentation uplifting😊😊
Thank you so much for the recommendation. Is this the book? I'll give it a read. Sorry for your loss. www.amazon.com/Perhaps-Lifetime-Maggie-Helen-Harries/dp/1449045480/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1CCUFL97XZV46&keywords=God%27s+Lifetime+by+Maggie+Helen&qid=1689309645&sprefix=god%27s+lifetime+by+maggie+helen%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-1
